The beneficiary fills it out. Generally when the consulate receives your case- each consulate has a different protocol. Have you looked up yours? Figuring out all these steps on what and when to do it is complicated and can be confusing.

Hello everyone please I need your help I saw people on here talking about DS-160 my question is that who is suppose to fill that form and when can that form be fill ?

Good luck to all of us ????????????????????

You won't have to wait much after this step and hopefully your case is on it's way to the consulate soon!

Question- What documents should I be getting from the petitioner for their proof of status in US and their proof of domicile in US

lease / rental agreement or mortgage letter for proof of domicile...(as mentioned above) nowhere on our montreal packet three does it request proof of status..... if anything an american birth certificate perhaps? but as i said.. there is no request for proof of status that i see. Where is it that you are seeing that request?

The beneficiary completes the DS-160. As for when, it varies for each embassy. I know for the Philippines you can fill it out once you have your case number from NVC but the visa fee can't be paid until the embassy in Manila receives your case from NVC.

Hello all,

I just checked my status at CEAC website and my status went from in transit to ready. Some questions:

Will my fiancee receive a packet from the embassy soon?

How do we receive our interview date? Do we get to choose or do they include that info in the packet they send to her? Same for the medical exam?

When can I pay for the visa fee?

When should my fiancee do the DS-160?

Thanks all!

you will see it once you get the packet 4 from Montreal!

I have the printed packet 4 from the montreal consulate. 3.o. is where it requests U.S petitioner status in the USA. That would be their birth certificate or status as a citizen in the states. I would do that. If you want further clarification e-mail the consulate. They respond rather quickly.

I think im going to e-mail them myself just to be 100 percent sure. <_<

Alright, so my status on CEAC has changed to "ready" so I've filled out the DS-160 and today I'm going to email Montreal with my confirmation DS-160, my passport bio page, and the completed checklist. Once I get an email back that is considered packet 4 and i'll be able to book my medical and interview? I just want to confirm with you lovely people! I assume when I go to book my interview online I'll be able to pay the fee too?

Thank you!! I'm so excited that this is moving so quickly! *fingers crossed*

Just as an aside.... if you do NOT get a response from them within two days you e-mailed your package 3 too early and they havent processed your NVC package. Give it a week and send it in again. You can also e-mail them to see if your NVC package has been processed.

Hi guys. My status changed to ready today. However, it says my search returned multiple results. I searched and the answers suggest that they made a case for our son. But he is a US citizen. Has anyone seen this before? Do I have to do anything about it?

Visa fee is $265 US. It will most likely have to be paid in your local currency at the current exchange rate. Everyone pays the visa fee. It's the fee for your DS-160 which is your visa application.

Ok I got an e-mail back from the consulate. Here is what i asked and what they said:

Good Afternoon,

On the K-1 Fiancee Visa check list on package 4 question 3 letter o asks for a copy of the U.S. petitioner status in the USA. What is that? Would that be a birth certificate? Please help clarify what you are asking for here for this check list!

Thank you,

Michelle Lafleur

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email!

You may submit a copy of the birth certificate, passport, naturalization documents etc.

Hello everyone!

I wanna update you guys!

The speed of the whole thing is crazy! I got my case number 2 days ago (2 weeks after my noa2) and today my application has been received by the consulate in Italy and the website says "ready"! OMG! I didn't expect this to be so fast!

Are you concerned about your noa2 expiring before entering the US? All of our noa2s should expire around february.. will you be asking for it to be extended or are you relying on your visa validity? I don't know what to do

I have copies of a photo we used for tourist visa application back in June. Can we use that for the DS-160, or should she go and have a new photo taken? It is okay for me to fill out the DS-160 for her and send her the confirmation page right? She had a hard time with the tourist visa application and would prefer I fill this out for her.
