Mexico: Trump's immigration plan is racist

The Mexican Foreign ministry on Wednesday slammed Donald Trump for his plan to deport the millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States.

"Anyone who understands the depth of the U.S.-Mexico relationship realizes that those proposals are not only prejudiced and absurd, but would be detrimental to the well-being of both societies," the Mexican Foreign Ministry said Wednesday in a statement to Reuters.

The foreign ministry also slammed the Republican presidential front-runner for his comments about undocumented immigrants who come into the U.S. from Mexico, whom Trump called "rapists" and "killers" when he launched his presidential bid in June.

The Mexican foreign minister had previously called out Trump for those remarks.

"We continue to stand by our position that these comments reflect prejudice, racism or plain ignorance," Mexico's foreign ministry said in the statement Wednesday.

Trump responded to the criticism while taking questions from reporters Wednesday night in New Hampshire, insisting that he has "a great relationship with the Mexican people."

"If I'm running Mexico I'm saying the same thing because I have to. Because what they're doing to the United States is unbelievable both in trade and at the border," Trump said.

Trump hasn't backed down in the face of criticism about his comments about undocumented immigrants and his plan to deport all of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States.

Trump has also pledged to end birthright citizenship, which grants American citizenship to all people born in the U.S., even if the newborn's parents are undocumented immigrants.

Trump has even gone further since that proposal, saying this week he doesn't believe people born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrants are Americans, though they do have citizenship under current law.

I support both of the ideas. Granted….you will never get all 11 million……but you will never deport any if you don't at least try.

Unfortunately this is one of the primary reasons immigration is such a pain in the ### so I am all for what Trump is saying. I'd love to round them all up and deport them too so they can go through the legal way like the rest of us. However those that do things always the right way are the ones that get screwed.

Or you could make E-verify mandatory and fine an employer who doesn't comply. No jobs, everyone goes home. No wall, no muss no fuss. Of course Trump wouldn't support that because his business pals wouldn't like it.

Look up E-verify. Simple solution to the problem and it would save billions in walls and deportation costs.

What about those who work off the books?lots of private businesses (restaurant, nail salon etc) do this.

Big fines for employers who circumvent the law. Crack down on businesses that don't withhold taxes. It's much more doable than building walls and deportation. Trump won't back E-verify just like the rest of the politicians. They don't really want to solve the "problem".

Fines are already in place, however, no one is enforcing it. Can you imagine the man power it would take for someone to go around to small businesses and make sure they are not employing people off the books and to make sure they are not employing illegals off the books?

Trump did it. The public knows he did it and he wasn't even fined.

If we could wave a magic wand and remove 11 million people with out the right documents from this country, how would immigration no longer be a pain in the ###?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

I doubt it. We'd just see an increase in wait times for certain classes of family based visas

Do you think it would take more manpower than looking for 12 million illegals and deporting them? And there are millions working with fake SS#'s and nothing is done by either party.

Enforce the law.

You must have missed the part about me saying the law isn't being enforced. If the companies would stop employing them they would self deport. E-verify is not fail proof. It is not the only thing needed in order to curve this problem.

I am all for it. Start doing something and increase the methods as needed. Put some fear into the employers and illegals.
