Why would you reschedule? I wouldn't. They delay could be a couple of days or weeks. The longer you put off your interview, the further to the back of the line you'll be.

Don't want to reschedule either. We waited (wasted) enough only for NOA2, but didn't know what to do since we didn't get any emails from embassy about their problem.

If our interview is already set should we change the dates now?

I think if you do that, you are just getting out of line to wait in the back of the line. If you have your interview as scheduled, then you are at least in the queue to get your visa printed (if approved) rather than waiting for a new interview.

We just got approved!!! Ahhhh I hope they start printing visas today! Hahah

Thank you guys! Our consulate told us they don't see it being more than 12 days to fix, so we'll see! :) at least the hardest parts are over!!!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Nonimmigrant visa applicants who submitted the DS-160 application form on or after June 9 should cancel their interview appointments at...

It says Nonimmigrant visa???

The link was from the Ottawa Embassy which doesn't process K-1 visas I'm pretty sure, I also couldn't find anything about it on the Montreal website either.

I'm nervous too since I have my interview on June 25th, planning on moving July 12th and getting married August 14th. This sucks. Here is hoping it will all be settled really soon.

The link that brings you to the ottawa one is the link I pulled directly from the Canada us embassy one with all the different ones not just Ottawa, on the website of all the separate ones they seem to not have posted anything but this link was posted directly on the canada one :) Good luck.

Cancel their appointments?? Not good...I'm hoping ours isn't cancelled, it took us six weeks to get ours!

Our embassy just posted this:

The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

Applications for U.S. visas are affected by this delay. Individuals with urgent travel should contact KabulNIV@state.gov.

They aren't printing ANY visas right now. Pretty much every consulate is saying the same thing because it's not their issue; it's the DOS'.

The most accurate information comes from state.gov , although individual embassies can put their own protocols into play. Here is today's official report

  • The Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our visa systems. These issues have resulted in delays in printing visas and may mean rescheduling some visa interviews.

Yeah like Tarzan updated..

Q: How long before you restore full system functionality?

Overseas passports are now being issued. We are working urgently to restore visa processing. We expect the systems to be fully operational again soon.

Hopefully the visas will be quick to fix, too!
