Good Day Lovelies!

I have a quick question...

On the CEAC website, my case status reads "READY", I submitted an inquiry in regards to "Packet 3" to MTL via their website and received an e-mail communication today that did not answer my inquiry, but instead told me that my case was still "In Transit" and that they would reach out to me with more information once it has been "received here at post". Should I be concerned? What does this mean? I just want to schedule the damn interview! AH!

Thank yooooou!

Anyone else have the same problem?

I got a letter stating I needed to create an account (USvisa-info) in order to pay the fee and confirm the appointment. However, after creating the account I was only given the option to confirm the appointment and nothing about being able to pay the fee. Or might this be an Amsterdam specific issue?

I guess I'll try to contact them tomorrow.

In addition to this; I just checked the CEAC website again, and my Visa (or case as I had referred to it previous) status still says "READY", however the date updated now reads July 8th, 2015. Is this good? Is this bad? It's doing my head in as I thought we were so close to the finish line and now it feels like we're not really moving too quickly. Halp!

You're overthinking it. Don't, lol. It'll drive you nuts checking that thing for dates and whatnot. The system just updates itself when it wants hahah. You'd be surprised at how many people are trying to make up something based on changing dates in order to make them feel better about how long it's taking to get visas after interviews :(

We're so beyond angry. We've changed flights twice, costing us cancellation fees, AND now next week is 90 days til the Ecuadorian wedding. Meaning the wedding we've been planning since before the visa was an afterthought is in serious danger of being cancelled and losing all of the money we put up for it, since Santy might not have his AP in time.

We've been at 'issued' on CEAC for over a week now, and still nothing. Santy has another flight scheduled for Friday, but since we didn't hear anything today, he probably won't be able to take it, since it takes a day to arrive after it's printed. And all the embassy keeps telling us is "YOU SHOULDN'T MAKE PLANS BEFORE HAVING THE VISA". Well, gee, thanks *insert not nice word here*. it's not like we didn't have a life before the damn visa took it over. UGHHHHHHH. Oh, how I would love to sue for severe emotional damage and all the money wasted on this. I'm so over the edge at this point.

Sigh. Rant over. Good luck to you guys in the NVC stage!!! Be praying for us... and my sanity

I'm trying to go back and read months of everything after wrongly posting and getting griped at in the other forum. I'm still lost. I feel like as an educated individual, I should be able to figure this stuff out but nothing is clear to me. I am afraid we have put the cart before the horse and made big mistakes. We received our NOA2 on June 18th. It left TSC on June 29th. My fiancé went and had his medical and police stuff completed at the clinic and police headquarter (uh oh...we didn't get a form!). He is supposed to go and pick up the medical results this week and the police documents on July 29th. On July 9th I got through to the NVC and they gave me a case number, but it's not being recognized yet. Did we mess up big time? The medical exam at the only approved clinic cost $250... NVC also said the embassy may be trying to call my fiancé, but he's deaf, so he won't get it. I think I wrote this on every form where it listed his contact, but I'm not sure...We also need to schedule our interview with a specific person who said he will conduct it in sign language. Any advice? Encouragement? PLEASE!

I am only able to help with a small part of your inquiry, as far as the case number goes...

I do believe that it is a glitch that your case number will not be recognized until it has been entered in to the system at the Embassy and has a status of "Ready". At least, ours wasn't. I wasn't able to enter it for a few days (felt like eons) and when I finally did, it said "No Status" for again, what felt like forever, until I received a status of "Ready". It has been at the "Ready" status since the 23rd of June and I haven't received any documents/communication from the Embassy yet. I'm not sure about your specific Embassy, it may be helpful to reach out to those who are dealing directly with them. I don't feel you've made any big mistakes! I know it's much easier said than done (just as it's much easier for me to give this advice than to heed my own...) but just breathe. Don't panic!

With that begin said, I have read that your the "6 month Visa clock" does start ticking once you receive the medical exam, but you may want to do more research on the validity of that as I could be totally incorrect.

I'm not sure about the Embassy calling your fiance, but if you've communicated on forms that they will not be able to contact him like that, I'm sure they can accommodate, I believe this to be true for the interview sign language requirements as well, but again, it'd be best to connect with those who have gone through your Embassy, or even inquire through the Embassy itself to put your mind at ease.

One way or another, we're all going to come out of this overwhelming, frustrating and stressful process on top! We'll be with our partners before we know it! Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey! I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any more assistance, I feel quite lost in this whole Visa world as well. :)

THANK YOU! It's just nice to have some encouragement. I am confident we can make the six month window. Sheesh...I hope we make a six week window! We've made a lot of mistakes and wasted a lot of money through this process. I'm just praying for something to FINALLY go right!

So Jonathan's interview is in 31 days. I don't know why, but I'm starting to get nervous. Nervous about the interview, nervous about him crossing the border on Friday, nervous about me crossing the border to go to his interview with him.......

He's coming here on Friday for 2 weeks and I'm afraid they won't let him cross the border this time. He still has his job, but he just sold his house, so I'm afraid of the ties to Canada thing. (I'm overly paranoid about this since I was denied entry into Canada for the ties to US reason). Every time he has crossed the border before, he's always said he was visiting friends (which isn't a lie, he has many friends here).

But I think this time he's going to say he's coming to see his fiance this time. I told him to take some of his K1 paperwork with him and the interview confirmation email. I know I shouldn't be freaking out over this so much but I seriously feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

I'd like to know too. I did the I134. Then my fiancé went for the medical and police things. We didn't have any form, but I looked on travel.gov, and for Ghana it listed the approved clinics. They had what he needed. They did the exam, sealed it and gave it to him today. We expect the same from the police. In Ghana, they knew the process and seemingly have the necessary forms. But I still wish I had everything in writing...

The best way to find out the information that ''packet 3'' contains is to look at your individual embassy website for instructions. For London, packet 3 contains a copy of your I129F, a welcome letter, and a list of instructions (such as go have a medical, go fill out your DS160, gather together your evidence for interview, and fill out the readiness form). There are many embassies that have different requirements so it is not the same. Packet 3 should arrive, after your case is at the embassy, however there's been many times when it's never been sent at all. It's not needed to continue, so long as you know the case is actually at the embassy and you are aware of the steps you need to take next anyway.

Well, my case finally changed to "Ready" today. I have been annoying my embassy this week with emails about it being there as it's been "In Transit" for a week now. I figured I didn't wait on them to reply or send Packet 3 since it's just a download link. I think they will be happy to be rid of me. ... As long as they send Packet 4 quickly at least. ;) Finally submitted it, and now I just need to book an interview. I'm nervous that it won't be until October at this point. :(
