Dwheels chime in again. My wife file taxes online and because when you married you have to put in your husband social which I dont have. Because of this she filed single, will this be a problem?

On other threads I have read that this is a problem. She should have filed Married Filing Separately because you can not claim single if you are not - it will come up (from what I have heard from others). She should make an adjustment to her taxes to be accurate and to not cause any red flags.

You can also apply for an ITIN number for yourself in the future, although it is too late at this point if you have an interview coming already.

Hey AC SQRD -- I just received my confirmation of my interview today and your point 2 is exactly what I was confused about it - about the eligibility doc?! it says bring original but not exactly sure what that is...so any VJ'ers if you can clarify that would be awesome.

Point #2 is specifically for Canadians. They want the document that qualifies you to be eligible to be interviewed in Canada. If you were born in Canada, this is your birth certificate. If you are a Canadian citizen, this is your passport. If you have another type of visa (other than a visitor's visa) that allows you to have residence in Canada, then this is your residency visa.

It does sound like a lot of duplication, but if you are NOT Canadian-born, or a Canadian citizen, then you need to provide your residency visa as your "eligibility document".

Snap so did I.....and then after getting booted off like 10 times!!! My husband messaged me to say that they have scheduled my interview for June 17th!!!! I am ecstatic ...... then I checked my email and was like woohoo!!

First thing I did was book my medical luckily she had a spot open on May 27th so booked it straight away...I don't want any further delayS!

I am sure you will hear either by end of this week or next week ChristinaG!!

I booked with Dr Randall T Lee, in scarborough...he is closest to me. And the receptionist was super nice.

Thanks Sukie! I wasn't born in Canada but have dual nationality so have my Canadian Passport.

Oh good! While he`s the furthest of the Toronto docs (coming up from Windsor) my family doc actually worked with him and recommended him... lol....

Today my husband had an interview ..He didn't get declined but they gave 221g white paper..They told my hubby to dropoff the joint sponsor..I dont understand why they are not checking the current income..They checked the 2014 tax returns and saying the sponsor is not making enough so ask him to dropoff the joint sponsor paper works...Its under AP now..Even if I submit in 2 weeks ..how long its going to take ...someone please answer this.. Thanks

Hi Guys!

I had my case expedited almost 2-3 weeks back. Today I receive an email in which they talk about

1. PCC

2. DS-260 confirmation and

3. Medical

and at the bottom its return your interview date is 06/05/2015 but there was nothing about VAC, I am really confused now.

Is this what the package-4 is ?

Its just an email with no attachment nothing. Just a mail with the plain text.

Don't get depressed you are almost there, and trust me this wait is worth it as everything will be done by NVC. In my case these people (to whom US Embassy has outsourced) has no idea what to do and how to schedule. They have schedule my visa interview appointment but had no idea about scheduling VAC. Each time you going to hear a different answer from different customer care representative.

Speaking of delays did you have any trouble registering your immigrant interview appointment on usvisainfo website? for courier service? I am not too sure if this applies to us but as far as how I understand specific instructions for Montreal Embassy it needs to be registered prior to interview date. I tried doing it, however, it said "not ready for an appointment". I am going to try again tomorrow maybe system is still loading/updating Based on CEAC website our case is still "at NVC" so maybe that's the reason either that or I am completely clueless of what's needed to be done
