you can buy one way ticket unless she has plan of going back home, she is migrating here right? One way ticket is good. Good luck!

You can buy whatever is less expensive. Sometimesa round trip ticket is better priced than one way.

I bought May a one way ticket.

good luck

Don't want to start a flame here, or be an a-h*le, but if you are serious about having to ask this question, are you sure you are mature enough to get married?

If you plan a marriage within 90 days, wouldn't you think 1-way would be sufficient? If you are really unsure of your intentions and there is chance that one will dump the other within 90 day period then opt for the RT ticket. Cost shouldn't be the deciding issue if you truly are in love with your fiancé. If the cost of plane ticket 1/2 way around the world is a concern, then possibly you should wait a while.

Just my $0.02.

Some believe you need a roundtrip ticket to get into the USA on a K1 Visa.

Due to it being a hybrid visa. It is like if you enter USA or even Philippines and have or get a tourist visa, more thank likely they will ask to see your return ticket back, before allowing entry.

It is not a hybrid visa

It is a non immigrant visa that was designed for 2 interested parties to get to know each other over a 90 day period, then have the choice to marry and adjust status or for the visa recipient to return to their country of residence.

Many people believe this visa should be abolished or at the very least reformed.

It is a visa that can easily be used for illegal permanent entry into the US for those who wish to use it as such..............and MANY do.

Questions about flying from the Philippines to the USA are posted quite often here in VJ. Here are a few links from February and March that you might find useful.

She is only required to have a one way ticket from the Philippines to the USA. We as US citizens need to have an exit ticket when we enter the Philippines, which can take the form of round trip.

If they would get rid of VAWA and state that beneficiary needs to be married to petition for like 3 years and that would do a lot to weed out the scammers.

Yes I agree way too many ways to take advantage of the visa or the petitioner.........

You are way way off buddy.

All he asked was "is one way or round trip ticket better?"

Where are you getting this..."unsure of your intentions and chance that one will dump..."

There have been many postings on VJ from all around the world regarding folks buying the round trip ticket because it was cheaper,

and that's a smart thing to do...and that has nothing to do with your strange accusations to this innocent question.

Chill out bud...just stick to the facts. :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Wow Ignorance runs deep with you doesnt it. Thanks for assuming i even asked about cost but i didnt. My question was if i HAD to as in am i required to. It is a non immigrant visa and as with most non immigrant visas you need to show that you have a return ticket. I really don't care if i have to buy one or not. I am not worried nor did i even imply that I thought one 0f us might dump the other. DON'T READ INTO thing that are not clearly stated. ARE YOU SURE YOUR MATURE ENOUGH TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS. I realize the ability to think before you speak is not a God given gift but at least think before you type, you have time.

Well at least fiancés should have to wait at least a year before coming to US like a lot of spouses must do, :ranting: !

Why ?just because someone is married first, does not mean everything is going to be great. there are scams with marriage visa just like there are with K-1 visa.

Spouses from the Philippines are not waiting a year. they are getting there visa process fairly quick. in fact faster then a lot of K-1 visa. especially faster then the ones at TSC.

I started the visa process in October. Me and my wife are almost done. while a lot of K-1 visa petitioners that apply in October are still at the TSC waiting for their petition to be approve.

To imply that a k-1 visa should wait a year like spouse visa is rather ignorant

Actually this is a good question, and yes, the responder did come off as an A88hole.

I've actually bought round trip tickets in the past even though I was flying one way because with the route I was using and the airline and the time left before departure, it was cheaper for me to buy and fly on a RT ticket.
