Hello,

I am preparing for my budget as soon as I received my visa, do you have any estimation to how much I should carry during the whole flight, I meant ranges of allowance?

how about the terminal fee and taxes, how much?

Thank you.

hi @chaeradaria,

Congrats ??? i havent been to the US but i travelled around asia. based on my experiences..

I go to the airport at least 5hrs early, then it depends which NAIA terminal u are going? so before u que for checkin' in counter for ur suitcases, better ask the information center wheres the section for paying the "travel tax" or else they will give u a running around. travel tax is Php1,620 and the Terminal fee is Php550 this one before heading to the Immigration counter. I dunno with us under K1 if we need to filled out an embarkation card? i think better ask the information center too about it, so u have things accomplished while waiting.

for sure u will bring with u ur debit cards, credit cards before ur flight call ur bank and inform them that u are travelling and possible be using it. for me my cards are back up. used for paying just in case got extra weight charges on suitcases. 10-15K Cash-on-Hand (for ur food as well,i think its better have extra Pesos, just thinkin'out loud)

Bon Voyage??✈️?

Hi @chaeradaria,

you're welcome? here on VJ are 'help me,help you' goal?

btw, if ever u have a motion sickness like me? i always hand carry a bonnamine chewables (2-3 tabs.)

it depends if u have a layover then have to transfer flights then u need it again,

2 capsule of immodium (just in case) and i also have air pressure problems in the planes

that causes my headache, that my ears like poppin' i take a Decolgen (drowsy or non drowsy)

it helps lessening the pain.

**just make sure still in original packaging or if u are afraid u can ask a physician to write a prescription

why u need to carry these meds.

bring also: 3ml or 6ml eyedrops (to avoid drying ur eyes) ,lip balm (to avoid drying ur lips)

**just place all these on ziplock bags.

Congrats and Happy Trip?

Don't need all the meds... Just 2 RH before boarding and you will be fine! Only kidding. Haha. I thought travel tax was now attached to ticket cost now? P550 terminal fee is correct at least 6 months ago. I would ask airline what baggage restrictions they may have. You will probably be allowed 2 checked bags at 20-25kg each, and one carry on. And ask what fees for overweight are. My personal feeling is that 10-15000 is overkill. P5000 should be more than enough from taxi to plane. And you will probably have much left over for memories. Bring small notes to maybe reward those that provide you extra service, but that's up to you.

Be advised all luggage will be your responsibility to move from the baggage pickup belt through immigration and customs until you finally meet your fiancé. Bags with wheels would be benefit. Wrapped/taped/tied box may be necessary depending on what you are taking but inconvenient after you arrive in US.

I'm curious on what service / airline you or fiancé uses to purchase a short notice one-way ticket. I hopefully will have that requirement soon shows that RT ticket is sometimes less expensive than one-way ticket.

Most of the time unless the ticket is purchased in the Philippines the travel tax is not collected. Philippines Airlines always collects I believe.

Mr. Greenbaum,

Is Exit Fee / Airport fee age dependent? Does a minor child, age 3, pay the same as her mother?

Yes.

More information can be found here: http://www.tieza.com.ph/

You can also go online and pay your exit fees by credit card then there is no waiting at the terminal to pay.

NO.

You may be assessed or asked to pay in cash the Philippine Travel Tax based on the following :

  • Mabuhay (Business) & Fiesta (Economy)

    Full Tax - PHP 1,620.00

    Children - PHP 810.00

    (2-11 years)

And a new feature, the travel tax can be paid online or at the airport if you choose.

You're confusing the P550 Terminal Fee with the P1620 and others Travel Tax for Filipino Citizens traveling internationally.

5hrs early? wow.

i've flown through NAIA about a dozen times now and 3hrs has always been more than sufficient.

Honestly, it depends on which Terminal and also which airline you're using. As well as time of year since during big holidays the lines at security & check-in/bag drop as well as the traffic outside getting to departures have been ridiculous as of late.
