Hello Everyone,

I had my interview on 18th , received passport on 20th , trying to pay the ELIS Fee. I am entering case id and alien number as it is on the visa stamp in my passport. but still it says

The A-Number or DOS Case ID you entered is incorrect. Please enter the A-Number and DOS Case ID listed on the USCIS Immigrant Fee handout you received from the U.S. Embassy or consulate.

ERROR: NOTE: If your visa was issued less than five (5) days ago, you may not be able to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee at this time. Based on the date you entered, we recommend that you log into your USCIS ELIS account on or after March, 30, 2015 to pay the fee.

Please suggest what should I do?

Thanks

Did you put the 0 in front of the A number A0XXXXXXXXX

How long does it take for the interview e-mail to show up in the inbox after it's scheduled? CC e-mail took exactly 7 days... like you guys said.

The morning after I emailed the consolute here about the late visa issuance, I woke up to the CEAC website stating the visa was under AP. I also got an email back from the consulate that morning, so fast this time! It said the visa was currently being processed and will be sent to the courier in the afternoon after being issued. I checked a half hour later and it was issued! The courier was at my door the next morning with my wife's passport and package in hand. Well done AIT!

It took a total of seven business days from interview to package delivery, so for those who are booking plane tickets before their interviews be very careful as I was told the whole porcess would take three business days. It was definitely frustrating waiting those extra days but we are so relieved now that we have everything.

Good luck to everyone!

Great news. Happy for you and your wife. Mercies Journeys.

Hi I just called the NVC and my interview is on May 08,2015 at delhi consulate

Congratulations.

I have asked this question before but not in detail way I would like to ask again. My wife was given 221g yellow slip and was asked to bring documents, I hope it doesn't happen again but if incase if they don't accept again will they give us another chance to correct the mistakes I am asking this because some people told me that it will be our last chance and they will deny the visa if we don't send the correct documents this time

Thanks

Congratulations on your visa! Have a good trip to the US! About your question, you can check out this site:

http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis/immigrant-fee-payment-tips-finding-your-number-and-dos-case-id

--------------------------------------------------

You can find your A-Number and DOS Case ID on your immigrant data summary, USCIS Immigrant Fee handout, or immigrant visa stamp. Your A-Number is the letter “A” followed by eight or nine numbers (such as A012345678). Your DOS Case ID is three letters followed by nine or 10 numbers (for example, XYZ0123456789). If you are a Diversity Visa immigrant, your DOS Case ID will have four numbers followed by two letters and five more numbers (0000AB01234).

--------------------------------------------------

  • Visa Stamp

You can also find your A-Number and DOS Case ID on the visa stamp (also called a visa foil) in your passport, as shown in the picture below (see link above).

    • Your A-Number is identified as the Registration Number on your visa stamp. If your A-Number is fewer than nine digits, insert a zero after the “A” and before the first digit to create a nine-digit number. For example, “A12345678” would become “A012345678.”

Your DOS Case ID is identified as the IV Case Number on your visa stamp. However, please note the IV Case Number has two additional numbers at the end, such as 01 or 02. When entering the IV Case Number as the DOS Case ID into USCIS ELIS, do not include the last two numbers. For example, if your IV Case Number is “ABC1234567801,” you would enter your DOS Case ID as “ABC12345678” (do not include the “01”)
