Hello all! My hubby had his interview on December 18, 2014. They told him at the interview that he will receive his visa once he provides phone records and complete his vaccinations. :clock:

Today he submitted the requested documents to the Embassy. He was then told that our family will need to take a $600 DNA test to prove that we are the parents of our daughter. :wow::cry:

I was 5.5 months pregnant when I left Senegal. Our daughter has been with me ever since. Why is this happening? I have looked on this website to find a similar situation; I've had no luck. :ranting:

Do I have a good chance at fighting this? What should I do? Any advice would be helpful. :help:

Also, today would be a great day for some encouragement...I am really overwhelmed and feel like this will never end...

Peace and blessings.

I just sent my i-130 for my husband. Hopefully it will be a smooth ride 8) !!!!!!!

God willing it will be smooth but prepare for the worst, that way you wont be to disappointed, this is not an easy or fast journey for most. Much luck to you. t5063.gif

Oh nooooooo...so sorry that you got a checklist...I know how it feels. We checked our form about 10 times each or more before we mailed them and still received a checklist. My husband is IT and is very precise about details and we stiiiillll got a checklist. It seems like it doesn't matter how hard you try to avoid errors...they can still be overlooked. I think it is like this.....you can not see the forest for the trees...the forest being the error. The harder we look for errors or missed boxs etc the easier it is to miss one. The forms really need to be overhauled and written in a way that is not confusing. The date thing can happen to any of us....and it does.

Dont beat yourself up about it....you cant change that it happened .

100% agree!

A little something for anyone that needs it today....a big stress relieving hug, wish's and prayers for Case Complete, quick interview dates and no AP !

picgifs-hugs-6391568.gif

I sort of don't need it but I'll take it for all the times I needed it and had none heheheheee OMG I love these thank you so much britens up the thread keep them coming girl. :D Woooooooooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo

Solenta my dear you have no clue when or how prayers will be answered but they did - Thank goodness for perseverance and the strength to get through these roller coaster of emotions - I know all of us can relate to that sentence!!

OMG - That quick huh?? I must admit after the checklist let down in December I have halted organizing everything and now it seems like I'll need to catch up these two weeks to make up some time. Really ready to get through this last hurdle and thank you so much for showing the time line - this morning I've been checking up on timelines and it looks like most expedites are done (as Solenta said too) within 2 weeks

We just scheduled our medical next week (a whopping 750 CHF that has to be paid for in cash on the day!) so let's roll on. Prayers and Prayers and Prayers for everyone waiting and famous virtual hug for everyone!! Virtual-Hug.gif

Awwww your very welcome sweet heart, praying the rest of your journey is smooth as silk and you have your Visa in hand. God is great and will make sure you are home very soon. :) I'm so very happy for your expedite and just knowing your excited, happy and almost free from this nightmare. :) God bless you and your loved ones always. Hi members!!

Could someone advise us on AOS package.. is it photocopies or originals docs mailed to NVC?

First thing first :D graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread.

I sent originals and kept two copies of everything I sent which saved me time since they are constantly saying pages are missing or you didn't sign etc and request in a checklist to resend. Just remember to send all pages even those with instructions for you or you will get a checklist. Not sure if we are supposed to send originals or not but someone will help you. If you can't get an answerer here please refer to the first page click on Sayin's link which is the first one and post there. Much luck to you.

Apparently it is taking the NVC almost 60 days to respond to emails also. I just got a response to an email I sent on November 14th. They didn't even address the issue in the email. Smh...

Holy cow seems like they are getting worse or they are putting those answering e-mail to help out with other things. CC's are coming in qucker by 5 to 7 day., WOW they really need to hire more people. smileys-embrace-hug-431475.gif

I can't believe how many of these visa applicants are broke, near broke,. criminal records, etc. and they think they can make it here in the USA.

Yahoos! (L)

My rant...

Hahahaaa thanks and yup it takes all kinds what can I say. graphics-welcome-010883.gif

Hello to all my VJ friends

Sorry I have been missing. Just trying to get everyone settled into school, swimming and everything else. Have spent lots of money buying clothes for all us Aussies who only have t shirts and shorts and are now dealing with way below minus temperatures. Still, I am sure many of you would be happy with that. We actually really love the cold weather.

I am sorry to see the checklists continuing. Robisons, you should get your CC very soon.

Soleanta great to see your interview date has come through.

For all those in AP my prayers are with you for a speedy end to this.

I will continue to visit VJ to see how all my friends are doing.

Xx

Awww thank you MSC, for coming back to check on us and it makes it that more special knowing how busy you are with life in the tundra ;) hahahaa. You guys need to move to California it's great here. :D God bless you for not forgetting us may God fulfill all your dreams. :Dt5063.gif

Hey team!

My husband has been here for a week now and we have been busy seeing friends and family and getting used to each other! Just wanted to drop by and say hi to all still slogging through this disaster!

Good luck to all and speedy CCs, APs and checklist reviews to all!!

Love Molly

Mollyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy&Juaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!! So happy to see you thank you for dropping by and checking on us and I know as MSC, Samreen and you are all very busy with life. I can feel your joy in your words and that makes me as happy as you are. God bless you and your family God grant you much love and happiness. :)t5063.gif

Thank you, sweetie. I am worried though and expecting the worst.

I am glad you posted on here as I was only just wondering this morning how you are all getting on. I'm glad to hear you're all settling in... I am quite worried about my daughter and moving her to yet another school.

Just remember children are very resilient and just being with her father and you knowing no more being apart will make it an easy transition. I'm sure will be way ahead of the other kids and they will just love her and she will be so confident about herself. Praying you get your CC before the 60 days so start calling your at 54 days it's when I received my CC. Please call see if your done with NVC. :D am praying as I type................ smileys-praying-931534.gif

I'm so very sorry my sweet friend, about this but don't feel bad my dear it's very common that this happens. I know it's expensive but it's just another hoop they are making everyone jump through and it mostly is Embassy specific. So please hurry and have that done, thank God it doesn't take forever now a days and get your Visa. Please don't be upset it's just bad luck they do this randomly for what ever crazy reason they have. t5063.gif

In my country they would say your at the door of the oven don't let the bread burn. I think if you contest this they will wonder why and can say denied, they have already said you have the Visa but you have just those loose ends. Bit the bullet your almost home you have gone through all the fire they set in front of you this is only one last bump in the road. Know your in my prayers and those of the good people in this thread. Just said a prayer this second, God is with you so just take a deep breath, this is the last of the stupid things you will have to do. Please come back and let us know what is going on we are here for you always. Much love and hugs.

Your words are always so kind and comforting. Thank you. I am on my 55th day now but they have slowed down considerably and appear to be taking the full 60 days. As my 60th day is on the weekend, i'm guessing i won't hear anything until next week  I feel like i'm losing my mind this week.

I received an email from our senator today saying that he requested an expedite for us but that London said no. I didn't expect an expedite request to be filed and had no idea it had been so you'd think i'd be okay with it, but i'm kind of depressed by it. I'm pleased however that our senator cares enough to have tried.

I'm so scared :crying:

It's taking soooo looooong for the IV fee to be released--I did the AOS fee and the first form weeks ago. Called NVC and they said it's going to be released 'very soon' and said it was 'moving forward' and when I said 'Does that mean today, or..." they were like "Nah, give it seven to ten days and then call us if you still don't have it."

It's SO FRUSTRATING when I already know that it's going take sixty days for anything to be processed after last scan date and 45 days before interview.

And I have NOTHING on those who will then have a year's AP!

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

What are you going to do about it?

Almost 28 days since I got a case number and completed the 261 online, still didn't get emails from NVC.

I'm planning to call them and speak to a supervisor.

Not much I can do. I'll give them a few more days and if in seven days it hasn't gotten invoiced, I'm going to call and ask for a supervisor. Because this is RIDICULOUS. I know I don't have it the worst. I know it's not as bad as it could be, but it's still really annoying. I'm SO CLOSE to the end and I just want to MOVE already.

I agree, it's still not at the 60-day waiting stage yet and these delays are happening. I swear if I could I would pick another country to live in and forget this whole process.

Awww sweet heart I have read they are about two days behind and I think it's just sitting there ready for you. Have your husband call so you don't have to go through the nervous wait for them to answer. Don't think they are that behind and I know your scared they have tortured us all. We all all suffering from the Stockholm Syndrom and only after POE will that subside. We are here for you my friend through thick and thin. Once you have your CC your Visa is a given, you have been married for a while with a child are or will be a Dr. and have lived in the USA. So you have no worries there, please try to relax and have your husband call today and everyday until they give you the good new. He has time to call right now and it would be worth it if you could sleep with a smile on your face. Love you girl be strong, it's just a little bit longer and your home my sweet angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! t5063.gift5063.gif

I'm so sorry my dear friend but don't believe them just because they say 7 to 10 days means nothing keep calling. They were adamant mine would take the full 60 days and would not be less but it took 54 days. Your on the right path and every day that passes is one day closer to your loved one. So have faith look how far you have come, from no hope to waiting a few weeks to come home for good. Smile my dear friend this to will pass. God bless you and your loved ones and know your in my prayers. t5063.gif

Bottom line it's painful, distressing and painful how they make us wait etc, etc. But unlike others who have gone through this process in 17 to two month and given an expedite for interview, sorry I don't fell bad for them after they complained how long the process was taking. You have all the right to feel the way you do so don't feel bad about that. Yes there are some of us who have waited much longer but it doesn't make your pain any less. t5063.gif

It's ridiculous. And yet there's not another option. I just keep thinking about all the money they're giving us and how we're talking to 'customer service' reps. If I gave such poor customer service at any customer service job I have had in my life, I would have been fired!

Soloenta, thank you, as ever, for your words of encouragement and empathy.
