  1. Hi all! We received the NOA2 about a week and a half ago, I just want to make sure I understand the next steps. Here is what I believe is next: Until the application has left the NVC, we will not hear anything. When it does leave the NVC, we will receive notification of this and receive the case number. I understand that in the meantime, we can call the NVC to get the case number prior to receiving the letter. Once it gets to the London Embassy, I (the beneficiary) will receive notification of this and the next steps. I assume this will include information on how to pay the visa fee and how to book both the medical and the interview. I pay the visa fee and book the medical and the interview. I make sure I have the following information: Passport with at least 6 months left before expiry 2 photos that meet Department of State requirements Birth certificate (I have a certified copy) Police certificate Form I-134, Affidavit of Support (As my Fiancé is at university and does not meet the income requirements, I have a form filled out by her as it is required for the petitioner to fill one out, but I also have one filled out by her mother to meet the income requirements) $265 ready for the Visa Fee Vaccination proof (Question about this below) 4 photos that meet Department of State requirements for the medical £330 for the medical exam A printed copy of DS-160 completion confirmation A complete copy of the initial application (I-129F) Copy of Form I-797C and Form I-797 (NOA1 & NOA2) Proof of ongoing relationship. Go for the medical exam, and then wait at least 5 working days for the results to get to the Embassy before having my interview Go to the interview. Get Approved (Hopefully) Wait around 1 week to receive the Visa and have the passport returned Questions: Vaccinations; I was born in Greece (I only have British Citizenship though), and the vaccinations I had are on the vaccination proof, however, they are missing the batch numbers. I read on another post that the medical requires the vaccination proof to also have the batch numbers on all vaccinations. Can anybody verify if this is the case? I am going to my doctors soon anyway to make sure I have all of them as I don't fully understand how to compare the letter from my doctor to the vaccination chart provided by the Embassy. Medical History; Do I have to get my full medical history for when I go to the medical? Am I missing or misinformed about anything? I appreciate your time, I will be writing posts about my experiences at the interview and medical in case anybody would like to read them in the future. Thank you all! Liam
  2. I'm going to apply for my girlfriends k1 visa fiancée visa I'm an american citizen we just had a babygirl and I apply for her CRBA last month my question is she already had another girl from a different relationship does her daughter (my stepdaughter) can she also be included in the visa since she's a minor 7 years old or is there other paper work thanks for all the help in advance
  3. Our petition finally got approved on 01/29/2019. In the NAO2 received from USCIS, it states they have sent the original petition to the NVC. It then states to allow a minimum of 30 days before contacting the NVC. Never states business days. When we contact the NVC directly, they quote 6 weeks. When we've contacted USCIS, the agents quote the entire process from NAO2 to the NVC giving out a case number can take up to 90 days. It all just seems really inconsistent. We're at 22 days of just waiting for our case to be shipped. We've read multiple forums where either USCIS never ships it out to the NVC or the NVC takes weeks to process. Does anyone know what timeline to trust and what the official timeline should be to contact for resolution that isn't just a copy and paste response? Has anyone actually seen their USCIS account/receipt number status change when officially shipped?
  4. Hi, I need some help regarding the DNA testing that they required for us to undergo. We’ve received a letter from the embassy, requesting for a DNA to be held for my Grandma, father and other 2 siblings. My grandma, who’s residing in California, is going back to Philippines this coming feb. 2019. is it possible for her to do the DNA testing in St. Lukes here in manila? I’ve checked on the official website that St. Lukes is accredited. Although i am not certain if it’s possible. I called the US embassy’s call center hotline but their answer seemed so confusing and they seem to be not so sure about the info. any insights will be deeply appreciated!

DS-160 have you ever entered the U.S.

Hello I am currently in the process of filling out the DS-160 application and came across the question; Have you ever entered the U.S.? I live in Niagara falls Canada and have frequently visited the states throughout my life. Is this question really requiring me to identify all 40-50 times I've entered over 20 years? Thank you for your time and wisdom!
  7. I am a U.S. Citizen and I am filling I-130 petition for my spouse. I married her in November 3, 2018. Her mother who is also a US citizen filed a I-130 petition to change her status from B2 visa to F1 in May 2015 then in April, 2016 the petition was approved, in June, 2016 she receive a letter for the National Visa Center telling her "A visa number is unaivalable and this petition is not elegible for further processing". Now, I don't know how to answer the question "Has anyone else ever filed a petition for the beneficiary?" in form I-130, in other word, I don't know if counts as a petition or not. Should I answer YES or NOT? I need help! Please. Thanks!

  11. Hi, I am getting ready to send in our Cr1 visa packet to the lock box, and I have a question about the passport photos. What does it mean when it says: Two passport-type photos (see specification) of the non-US Citzen spouse. Who is the beneficiary for each person? I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. Thanks, xoxo
  12. Hello, I'm looking for information from anyone who has rescheduled their interview for a future date in Montreal. I'd like to reschedule because it's difficult for me to make the interview, but wondering what the drawbacks are (aside from the main drawback of waiting longer for my visa). I've applied for a K3, sponsored by my American wife, currently living in Canada. Looking for either general information about your experience, or answers to the following questions. Anything is greatly appreciated, thanks! 1. What reasons did you have to give to reschedule, if any? 2. How much longer did you have to wait for your visa by rescheduling? 3. Did you have to take the next available date or were you given options of future dates?
  13. Hello VJ, We sent our ROC and have received our NOA1 and NOA2. We have our ASC Biomertic Appointment in a few days. I had a few questions. 1.) We only need our NOA2 - ASC Appointment letter and Photo ID (Green Card)? Do we need the NOA1 - extension letter of our green card also? 2.) Is my wife suppose to go alone inside the building or can we both go? 3.) Do they ask any questions during the procedure? 4.) I'm guessing it is similar to the bio metric procedure she had done before coming to the USA? 5.) Do we need to come few hours before appointment time? Or bring anything else? Sorry if these questions are obvious questions. CSC: NOA1 Date: Dec. 8, 2017 NOA2 Date: Dec 15, 2017 Thanks!
  14. Hello! Hopefully, I've put this in this in the right topic! Alrighty so firstly I have looked around and can't seem to find the answer to one of my questions. But info first, My conditional residency green card expired in June 2017, Sent out to renew it in April 2017. I did the biometrics back in June 2017 and what not and am in the waiting game phase atm which is fine. It looks like I won't be getting my new one for another 5 to 7 months (mine was sent to the California office) and my Extension Letter Expires in June 2018. So the issue I have is that I'm visiting my family in England from June this year to August meaning during my trip my extension letter will expire. I know I can get a I-551 Stamp well I think I can I've heard different things. I'm planning on doing that In May. But the problem I'm stuck with is my information for the flights. Because I have a British Passport it's asking me for my green card info which is fine buuuuut i can't complete it because the expiry date was June 2017 and that's not an option on there so I now have absolutely no idea what to do and can't finish the info needed. Do I get new info on the I-551 Stamp that I can put in instead? Do I need to call the airline? I've got no clue lol Also as a mini question lol for this I-551 Stamp do I need to do anything in particular aside from booking the appointment and bringing the usual/typical stuff? Like a certain form or payment? Next Is mostly just an added question about whether anyone has used Iberia airlines before? 2 of my 4 flights are with them and I can't for the life of me choose my husbands or my own seats and I'm worried if we don't do it soon then we might not sit together (I always get stuck to the strange or scary people, no joke) So do I need to call Iberia or AA to help with that? I think that's all. Thank you for all/any help and answers in advance.
  15. Hi, please can somebody tell what would be the answer to this question? This is one of the questions that my fiancé has to answer. Should she answer yes because I submitted an I-129 form for k1 Visa or that form doesn’t apply to this question?
  16. Hi, please can anyone who got approved during his/her interview for k1 visa tell me which line number of tax return paper he/she used for question 3 part 3 of page 3 ? Thank you so much. Aslso can a person after he/she got approved for k1 fiancé visa get married legally in Morocco before coming to the USA to complete the k1 visa process ?
  17. Hello everyone. First of all Visa Journey has been an amazing resource and has helped me so much through my K-1 visa process. There is one question that I have not found anywhere. Can my significant other visit me for a week after the K-1 has been approved, without using her K-1 visa? My SO and I are going to file for a K-1 visa in the upcoming weeks. We would like to travel and see each-other about every 5 weeks, just for a week at a time. I have researched how it can be difficult for her to come into the US while the K-1 visa is pending, so I am aware of that situation. But my question is if she can visit after the K-1 has been approved, without using the K-1 visa. I know it is probably a weird question, but we don't want to start the process of her being stuck in the US while waiting for a green card for a few months, but we would love to get the K-1 approved as soon as possible. Hopefully this makes sense. I appreciate all of the help. Thanks, -Isaac
  18. Good day please help what should we do everytime we log in to CEAC it could be an error always..! Hoping for your Reply please thank you
  19. Just Curious I had a question can the state of emergency be a good reason to request a expedite in your case? The record Death toll in the country last year, the United State increasing the travel level to 2 and the country itself enacting a State of Emergency in a particular region where your spouse live? How do you request a expedite?
  20. Me and my girlfriend have been together for almost half of a year now but I truly, and have no doubt about it, love her. She was in my hometown on a J1 student program here in Seward Alaska and that's how we met. She went back home at the end of the summer to finish her last semester of college and over the period of time that she's been home we've decided to get married. Our relationship is very strong and not just because it's young. We've been through A LOT already and it's only brought us closer together. I. HAVE. NO. DOUBT. that she's the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. She met my parents when she was here in Seward and I've talked with her family/parents about marriage. We want to get married this summer but Im worried. She had her phone stolen (containing most of the evidence of us being together) when she returned home. We got a police report of the incident and will include it in our package. I believe that we can meet all of the requirements necessary for approval but am just worried that the amount of time that we've been together, and the fact that the majority of our proof was stolen, will hinder our approval. Can anyone give any input, just for peace of mind? Or does anyone (who's been approved) have a similar experience??
  21. Little bit about my story. I filed the k-1 visa in the end of September of 2017 and I got it back since I forgot to sign one of the pages, so I signed it and on October 6, it says they got my case. How long is the process currently taking? I am just hoping to get my fiance here before july of 2018 Does anyone think its possible?? I am very stressed. I called my lawyer today and he told me as of November 1st they are started to process filers of June. I am confused, could anyone help me out. Thanks!
  22. Hi everyone, a few days ago we got an RFE regarding the i 864. On it it stated I (the petitioner) am supposed to file the i 864 as well even if we have a joint sponsor (which we do). Then it said the joint sponsor'd income wasn't meeting the requirements for the 125% poverty guidelines, which he makes way above the required minimum . And finally it said that the household number was calculated incorrect "The joint sponsor must correct the and/or complete page 4 of the form I-864." My questions are: 1. I wont be able to qualify for sponsor, do I still have to try to meet the required minimum (using assets) even if we will get a joint sponsor or it doesn't matter? 2. Could the miscalculated household size trigger the system to say that the joint sponsor doesn't meet the requirements 125% Poverty Guidelines? 3. When calculating the household size does the principal immigrant count in as well? (For example: joint sponsor has a wife and three children and will be sponsoring my spouse)
  23. Hello VJ! I’m new to visajourney! My husband and I recently got married and my vacation time in the US is coming to an end BUT we’re ready to embark on a new journey and start the CR-1 visa process. We’re slowly but surely getting our papers and proof together but I did have a couple of questions regarding the process. I’m also anxious by nature and we want to get this right the first time around so dear Visajourney, I had a couple of questions for you regarding the process. Firstly, both of us communicate constantly through Facebook when we’re apart. We never really used text message unless we were travelling to each other. We also use discord to talk, because we usually play video games together as we’re talking. It’s just a lot easier for the both of us and we both avoid long distance charges. Would USCIS approve of screenshots taken of our conversations via Facebook or is there another way I could go about doing this? Secondly, my husband and I aren’t huge on picture taking but we do have selfies together from each visit. We don’t have very many pictures of us with each other’s families (we do have a couple). We have a lot of pictures from the wedding though that include both families. I was wondering if that would be a problem with USCIS or NVC? And how many pictures should I send? Seeing as it’s impossible for my husband and I to own joint property or a joint bank account (I live in Canada and he lives in the US) we decided to ask a couple of friends to write an affidavit, stating that we have had an ongoing relationship for the past three years and that we still have an ongoing relationship today. We will be getting it notarized as well. Has anyone else done this? As for more proof, he has letters that I’ve sent from the beginning of our relationship, we have our Amtrak tickets from previous trips, I will be getting phone records to prove that I’ve called him and his family, I have Christmas cards from previous holidays and we have invitations and programs from our wedding as well as our wedding vows to each other (we wrote letters to give to each other prior to the wedding ceremony). Is there anything else that I should include?
  24. Hi Everyone Our visa was received on the 4th October, and since that time it has been on 'case is received'. My question is should it have moved to another stage, such as 'initial review' by now? 2 months seems like a long time for it to be on case is received. Or, does it go straight from 'case is received' to NOA2. If it normally would have moved on to another stage by now, what might the likely reason be? Many Thanks in advance, if more info is needed let me know
  25. Evening all, I need to vent a sec then get some sound advice and/or suggestions. I feel I am a very patient person and so is my fiancé. We both are Christians and I have faith that things will work in our favor. BUT, it's been over 190+ days since I filed our I-129F K1 petition. I wasn't worried now we both are getting concerned. I even tried using the tracking app but it just made me more concerned because most of the I129F for May 22, 2017 are completed and there are tons of I130 for the same date. I don't know if was reading it wrong but what I did was try to analyze by the last 4 numbers of our receipt and look for May 22 and May 24th dates. I did review all but was just trying to get and idea of where USCIS is at as far as the cases. I front loaded and sent the Affidavit of Support. I called the end if last month and spoke to a rep but they just read the same thing I saw online at that time they were still in April. The rep said next month which would've been November. I tried doing an inquiry a few days ago online and then on Dec 1st. They system did not process the inquiry and I got a message saying our application is within the current processing time. I'm traveling abroad this week so I'd like to have some good news to share with my fiancé. Is anyone else having a similar issue? I'm I missing something? Any idea?
