And they only respond after one month. The NVC still doesn't have my case and they say its USCIS who is at fault. And you have USCIS saying we sent it it's not in our hands. So frustrating. Whom to believe?

Have you spoken to a USCIS Immigration Officer? You may be wasting your time with these emails.

Yeah, I believe only the petitioner can put in a service request. If you have an android phone, you can call 1-800 numbers via google hangouts. That's what I did when calling USCIS from abroad.

Yes, BOW is correct. Only the petitioner can call USCIS.

You can't take the letter to mean anything, based on what the rest of us have experienced. You (or your fiancee) have to keep on them.

I think the phone lines at both USCIS and NVC are especially busy today. The former has an estimate of a 10 minute hold (I've never been on hold with USCIS before) and I have tried reaching NVC 40 times today. The USCIS website is also super slow today. Blah.

9 weeks tomorrow and still no word on where my petition is. I am soooo frustrated. Have contacted Congressman - no reply. Called NVC - they just say no, call back in a couple of weeks. I have emailed, done an inquiry - nothing has worked.

Great thread. Thanks much USMSBOW for passing on the link, and previous advice.

Am in same situation. USCIS California NOA2 approved Oct 15th, nothing yet to arrive at NVC New Hampshire.

Got heaps of misinformation from both bureaucracies... but seems, the file is gathering dust in California. USCIS has is sending a letter explaining what will happen now, will read it and then keep chasing and calling. One of the Tier 2 officers mentioned putting an expedite order on the file - lets see if that actually happens...

Will update on progress as it painfully/slowly/patiently moves along. To be honest, any movement however slow right now would be bliss!!! News of thatangela's progress is very encouraging x

Now definitely need to get an extension on our NOA2 (expires 15 Feb). Would we do this through local embassy, or USCIS California again?

Today's NVC call.

NVC dude: When was the NOA2 approval?

Me: September 10th.

NVC: I assume you have e-mailed us already?

Me: Yep. I'm just calling because USCIS said they sent it on December 15th.

NVC: Ah, I see. Yeah, when they "re-send" a petition, there really is no timeline or estimate like the original 35 day guidance.

Me: Ha. So basically you're saying I'm in the proverbial no man's land

NVC: Yep, pretty much

High five to today's NVC dude for honesty!

She lists a number of steps to take on the first page of the thread. It's fairly detailed.

And honestly, this thing is a crapshoot. I've followed them and am still stuck.

Excuse the triple post...

One "upside" to being in this situation is the tier 1 USCIS people no longer have any ammo to block me from reaching tier 2.

Today's Tier 1 USCIS person: Sir, when was your NOA2 date?

Me: September 10th

Tier 1: December 10th, 2014?

Me: No, SEPTEMBER 10th.

Tier 1: Oh, sorry. Well sir, you need to wait 90 days before you can put in a service request.

Me: Yeah, well it has almost reached 120 days since my approval

Tier 1: When was the last time you spoke to NVC?

Me: Today

Tier 1: Oh, sorry. I will have to pass you onto someone above me

Me: Thank you

The wait for a Tier 2 person? 145 minutes. Crazy. Thankfully I could set up an automated callback when it's my turn.
