Got EAD production confirmation on Friday - Feb 13th. I am expecting by this Friday to have it in the mail. Will use it to change the name on Social security card. One thing at a time .

Also whats AP?

No status change if interview has been scheduled or not. I am expecting it in March to be honest.

You don't need to use the EAD to change your name on your social - if you have marriage license you can change your name with SSA.

Actually in our case do. In her country she just had a first name, Just Priyanka. The US embassy forced that it would be considered last name and wrote FNU (First name unknown). So the visa was issued in FNU Priyanka. Social security recognizes only that name. Based one the marriage she would have an option to add a last name or change the last name. Hence with the marriage certificate it would be FNU Priyanka (my last name) or FNU Priyanka. (Yes I know its a nightmare). I applied all paperwork in Priyanka (my last name), and the EAD card is coming in that name. Apparently if that happens, my SS office here will recognize and do a (according to them) a complete name change. Hope I have cleared the situation. Its a pain when your K! spouse is coming into the country with only one name.

Oh one more thing...marriage license is not a proof of marriage.

People don't have to get married after getting the marriage license.

So, you probably meant marriage certificate or certified marriage certificate copy,

which is issued only after the marriage.

I did mean certified marriage license.

So I am guilty of reading other forums and I am now a bit worried. First question, have Dec filers received mails for an interview or are people getting the Notice of interview waiver and is the interview date in a couple of months or being extended several months (say 6 months).

Any guidance on how I should set my expectations would help. Thanks

Marriage license is a permission to get married...and has no absolute

relevance to whether the marriage actually took place or not.

Also, marriage license is no official record of marriage,

and I've not heard of SSA accepting marriage license as a proof of marriage.

I've not received any mail about interview (or waiver).

We did biometric almost 5 weeks ago, and we are still waiting for EAD/AP approval.

One way to check the processing time is to go look at November filing thread

as only few December filers are now getting approved.

So- my county refers to the legal document that records your marriage as a certified copy of the marriage license. The term license and certificate are used interchangeably in some jurisdictions.

WHAT I MEANT WAS: The legal document that provides proof of marriage. Happy?

OK guys I'm a bit confused here and need a little help. So we got the notification for EAD card production on Feb 6th and still looking out in the mail for the actual card. However, we received a notice of our Approved AP which was a letter stating what it was and that we should not lose it and use it for re-entry. But I thought that AP & EAD was a combo card. Am I wrong? Please enlighten me.

So today I got email and text confirmation of EAD card production!!!
