How long did it take you to get a reply for your I-130 form?

I've heard some people say that they only had to wait about a week or two to get a response from USCIS about their I-130 form but I've been waiting about 6 weeks now and haven't heard anything. How long did you guys have to wait? I'm thinking about calling the embassy but don't know if they'd be able to help.

timeline in layman's terms:

Submitted I-130 (in person) - September 16th, 2014

I-130 Approved - November 12th, 2014

Received an e-mail prompting me and my wife to complete form DS-260 and submit some documents to a bank (NOA2?) - November 28th, 2014

Submitted documents to bank - December 4th, 2014

Received an e-mail instructing me and my wife to schedule an interview appointment - December 18th, 2014

NOA1 should take about 2 weeks. Do you have a tracking number for the package? Was it delivered? Did you send a check and was it cashed?

This does not constitute legal advice.

Call uscis support .. Dont wait.. It took 3 days for us to get email and abt 15 days to receive post

Did u sent G1145 form .. E notification form

Ya, I sent in that form. I don't know what the problem is. It seems like even if I did not submit the appropriate material I'd be notified of such

I submitted it in person at the Beijing USCIS office. They told me that they'd send it to the Guangzhou USCIS office.

Hmm...if that's the case you might want to contact them about it. I'm not sure how it works in these cases or if it takes longer to receive an NOA1 since I'm unfamiliar with DCF. Someone should be able to provide you with further help soon.

Yes, since you submitted it at a location outside US, it may be different. Majority of posters here are talking about filing I-130 petition within US.

Not the embassy.. USCIS.. its monday morning and i am at work.. so i cant search the number for you to contact. Do a search on www.uscis.gov or in the forum itself.

VJ has guides and instruction listed. Check that

1. Check with ur bank whether your fee for i-130 was cashed or not. If yes, then ur file is with USCIS. If not then they didnt received it or it got lost

2. check with courier company when was ur i-130 delivered. Was it weekend or on holidays. If weekend or holidays chances are high of mishandling.

Good Luck

oh .. sorry ur is DCF.. i dont know any thing abt DCF

i was sharing our experience with i-130 US filing.. Not DCF. Apologies

Guangzhou USCIS actually picks up the phone, when you call in.

Try it soonish ?
