No Votes for Dems or Repubs Until They Fix Unfair Treatment Towards USCs filing for the Spouses Abroad

The only place we can hit them where it hurts will be votes.

I wonder if there isn't an advocacy group that can pick this up and run with it; the way the (for instance) ACLU picks up causes and turns them into legal challenges. This is certainly a deserving cause. Anyone know of a group that could handle this?

I could be wrong on this....just not sure.

The way I understand the immigration system is that it is funded by those of us who apply for visas. However...the illegals and the DACA fiasco recipients do not pay anything. So we are paying for us and them. How fair is that?

You have mentioned that you were involved with a bribe that immigration officers know about ?

My husband was contacted by the local police. We told the embassy and then the embassy told the police. No confidentiality.

Before you pounch on me hear me out.

Can we hold up picket signs outside of the White House? NO! Because we are working to stay above the poverty line so we can bring our love ones here legally.

Can we pay expensive court fees? NO! We are using this money to go and visit our love ones abroad. A ticket to Sri Lanka this Christmas is over $2000 dollars. We are lucky. Last Christmas we spent $3043.

We need to come together on this. Type a letter, send it to every Dem, Repub, state representative we can and tell them they will not get our vote until they reverse the ill and unfair treatment we are suffering in this immigrations process.

Tell them we will encourage EVERYONE we know not to vote, we will take to social media, the news, foreign governments and anyone else who will listen that we will no longer stand for this.

We need to hurt them where they will listen to us.

Anybody with me? Now is the perfect time to do this.

I agree in general, but that's the problem; everyone is just too general and the demand offers nothing specific. The singular reason abuse and corruption lives in the American immigration system is due to "The doctrine of Consular Non-Reviewability"

Dear Representative,

Election time is near. During election time thousands of emails, commercials and walks are organized to gain the attention of potential voters. You ask us to unite, vote for you and stand up for your cause. If you want my vote, you will need to stand up for my cause. There are millions of U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents and Legal Residents filing for entrance to the U.S. for their loved ones. We pay high fees, provide our personal information and our loved ones sit through humiliating and embarrassing interviews around the world while you allow illegal immigrants to gain entrance to this country without the humiliation that we suffer through.

As if the process is not painful enough, you have stripped away our rights with the Doctrine of Non-Reviewability and have given all power to the embassies abroad. You have allowed them to do to us whatever they please whether it is according to law or unlawful. When we file a complaint with the courts to fight against the unfair treatment we have suffered at the hands of a U.S. Embassy the court tells us they are powerless due to the Doctrine of Non-Reviewability. Unchecked power has no place in a modern country.

Okay you guys. Make suggestions!! Help me out.

A little shorter might be better:

Dear Representative,
There are millions of U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents who file to enter the U.S. to legally bring their loved ones to the U.S. They pay high fees, provide sensitive personal information and after doing so, they endure humiliating and embarrassing interviews around the world. This happens while you allow illegal immigrants to gain entrance to this country and bypass the legal immigration processes altogether.
Additionally, the rights of the US citizen have stripped away by the Doctrine of Non-Reviewability, which gives absolute power to the consulates and embassies abroad. This law enables opens the door to corruption and removes the right of due process. Unchecked power has no place in a modern country.

I like this!!!!!

Are we going to tell them we are not going to vote for them? Sending this alone will not scare them into action.

A couple of corrections:

Dear Representative,
There are millions of U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents who file to enter the U.S. to legally bring their loved ones to join them in the U.S. They pay high fees, provide sensitive personal information and after doing so, they endure humiliating and embarrassing interviews around the world. This happens while you allow illegal immigrants to gain entrance to this country and bypass the legal immigration processes altogether.
Additionally, the rights of the US citizen have been stripped away by the Doctrine of Non-Reviewability. This doctrine gives absolute power to each and every US Consulate and Embassy abroad and opens the door to corruption by removing the US citizen's the right of due process. Unchecked power has no place in a modern country.

Update. Here is what immigrate2us.net thinks about our letter. I have not sent the letter out as of yet.

  1. Your in the wrong forum to talk about illegal immigrants. This forum has a high percentage of illegal immigrants that have sacrifice leaving their home country for a better future. If the US allowed them to come freely then they wouldn't be illegal. Your comment makes no sense about them coming in freely.

I as a USC can also write to my representatives and say do no give people waivers that have committed CIMT in their countries. If they do crimes in their countries what do we expect them to do here in the USA?

Yeah good luck with your letter, no help from me.

  4. Seems like you are back peddling. Illlegal is illegal. You're still in the wrong place looking for help with this letter.

Again not everyone has the right to leave their country legally! Why hasn't your spouse been able to leave legally?

Read your comments, one of them is talking about illegal immigrants. If it was so easy believe me there wouldn't be needing a change in laws or asking for a reform to correct their mistake.

Also there is no such thing as equal treatment when every case is not equal.

Immigration is hard already but when you are in the same position or even worst and your trying to question at an undocumented person who comes illegally verses one who is trying to bring in their spouse legally who also has cimt in their country . Sounds like screw one and save the other.

Maybe you're not aware, but there is no way for many people to "undo" their status or "do it the right way". There's no way for most undocumented immigrants to ever come here legally, no line to get into either in their country or within the US. Do you really think people would willingly live in the shadows, unable to legally work or drive, afraid any moment their family could be torn apart by deportation? Let me tell you that no, no one wants that. No one is just staying in the US, flouting the opportunity to get legal status.

Also, its not just a matter of leaving the country, getting into some imaginary line, and coming back "legal". Many people don't get waivers approved or aren't even eligible for years, decades, or ever. They get stuck separated from their families regardless of what they do or don't do.
  10. Achievements:

You make is sound as if EVERY Undocumented person has the possibility of as you say "undoing" what they did wrong. News flash not every undocumented person is married to a US citizen. If your significant other wasn't married to you (assuming you're the USC) and instead was married to an undocumented person would he/she be undoing what he/she did wrong and that is entering illegally?
