Hi all,

Based on Soloenta advice I am posting my question here.

I am married to LPR ( religious asylee ) ,& we filed for 130 F2A , 12-sept-2014 is our PD .

We are from Egypt, I got the receipt & when I checked USISD website , I entered the receipt number & I got initial review , I checked the processing time for California service center for spouse , it was 5 month .

Now I do not understand what's the use for the processing time if I have to wait for my PD to be current, is there any way to speed things up as my husband is Christian & I am not (was born Muslim) & in Egypt they do not allow nor recognize civil marriage, & it might be dangerous for me if anyone finds out. That's why we got married in Cyprus.

Thanks again.

If you can provide proof your wife is in danger, you may be able to be expedited at the USCIS stage. I don't even know if you would be able to get expedited at NVC to get the interview right away since there is a priority date involved and as far as I know, it must be waited for no matter what.

You might be better off posting in the F2A forum on this website.

Edit: Sorry, by "your wife" I meant you! Long day.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Ok everyone, I have a question I would like every one to answer since this thread belongs to us all. Should I start a new thread the 1st of the month like Saylin and Dewheels does? Or would you rather I just leave it as is? It's up to you guys to decide. :D(F) (L) (F) [/b]

Maybe you should open a new thread every month so that others that want to join will find it easier to go thru the pages. If we continue on just this thread it will be too much for newcomers to read all pages. Just my opinion.

Others can also say their own opinion.

:( I guess it's not really my place to say, but it's a shame your own people could turn on you for marrying the man you love. Stay safe.

I just called Sylvia at NVC had a lovely person pick up her name was Vanessa and she quickly looked for the Supervisor she said she can't find her and she might be in a meeting and what would I like to do have her call me or call back later. I asked for the Supervisor to call me since it was so difficult to get through. She apologized hahaa she has to be new she's toooooooooooooo nice, I thanked her and here I am. :D(F) (L) (F)

Based on Soloenta advice I am posting my question here.

Thanks again.

Your PD is 12-SEP-2014 and currently, the cutoff date for F2A is 01-FEB-2013 for Egypt (October Visa Bulletin). You are right, an expedite at the USCIS level won't avail you, and according to this lawyer (http://www.gurfinkel.com/imm_updates110.htm) breaking through the cutoff dates is not allowed by law.

If your husband is about to or could naturalize pretty soon, then your outlook and options would be much brighter. Keep in mind that your husband could count up to one year of asylum status towards green card residency, which means he might be eligible to naturalize up to a year sooner than he thinks.

Your husband is a religious asylee. Put his experience there to good use and see if there are options from that angle.

I know this might sound odd and if it's wrong please anyone chime in. I was thinking if your in this much danger can you leave Egypt right now? You can fly to Quito Ecuador you don't need a visa for 90 days then you can file for one just make sure to take birth certificate, police records anything like that you can think of. I know you don't speak the language but you will be safe and it's cheap to fly there so your husband can visit you. Rent is cheap and some convents have cheap rooms for women, I don't know it's a thought might want to talk it over with your husband. Or some other country, and http://www.doyouneedvisa.com/visa/Egypt/Ecuador

Sorry this one would not show, http://ecuador.visahq.com/requirements/Egypt/resident-United_States/

Since I've seen how unreliable NVC is, I thought I should confirm if they really did accept my marriage certificate. Called right now and after 50+ minutes of waiting, got to Rick the robot

He gave me the usual 60 day story and said my checklist hadn't been reviewed, I tried to get him to tell me what dates they're working on but he was adamant on his 60 day story.

Anywho, good thing is he confirmed that marriage certificate had been accepted and the only thing remaining is the checklist, for which I should wait at least 60 days from aug 15th before calling and confirming.

....and now it's time to go back to waiting :clock:

I expect a forthcoming email or a call once a decision is made. In the meantime, I'll be holding my vigil at CEAC.

You've done enough praying for me dear... it's nearly closing time here. Save some for the others. Let's see some CCs and interviews before the week is done.

I'll start chanting my goofy chant

Hey Hey NVC! .... How many more weeks for CC?

You have brought a smile to my face this morning Moh. Am going to take my daughter yo school, go for a run and then come back and catch up on the thread. I am waiting for some good news from your camp.

I have my own NVC drama and will report on that later in the morning.

    Hahahaa your so funny geez ok well, I'm sure if the doofus doesn't e-mail you today he will tomorrow for sure, Monday if he's a total idiot.

Ok everyone, I have a question I would like every one to answer since this thread belongs to us all. Should I start a new thread the 1st of the month like Saylin and Dewheels does? Or would you rather I just leave it as is? It's up to you guys to decide. :D(F) (L) (F)

I will go with majority but am happy to leave as one thread. I guess one advantage of having a new thread each month is we can see how long some folk are at NVC for.

Today I received the "60 Day" email in reply to the NVC receipt of my AOS Checklist.

I'd prefer if the letter was more honest and said something like "We are really sorry for the delay...well....not really! Because the people that run this place go home to their families every night so it's all good."

I wanted to add a thanks and shout out to Soloenta, EOC and the others that chimed in with some kind support. It helps more than you know!
