idk??????? I thought NVC doesn't schedule the interview, once cc, NVC will contact each embassy about the CC and they will wait for the embassy to schedule the interview and notify us? is it supposed to be this way?

each embassy schedules its own interviews, I don't think NVC schedules the interview. I might be wrong.

it was email, if you are EP, then it will be email. check out my previous post which I replied to "dwheels76"

he said china we have to opt-in something...really? do you have any clue?

China is the only embassy they schedule the IR1/CR1. All others are in the hands of NVC.

The embassy all they do is send available slots NVC plugs in the cases according to case complete.

You're justified to feel nervous, but she'll do great! Our Sept group has been blessed with a lot of good news lately, so I'm sure she'll be fine and you can finally relax! Wishing her good luck and I'll say an extra prayer for her too. :)

I hope you're right. Thanks.

Hello Everybodyy!!

VISA APPROVED!! yay.gifyay.gifsmiley-dance013.gifdance4.gifthexcited3.gifemoticons-yes.gif

So happy!!! The best thing is that they let me pick up my Passport on Friday 29th! And my air ticket is for Sunday (Aug 31st) so I'll be able to travel with my hubby as we initially planned months ago!!!

The interview was extremely easy, they didn't ask me for ANYTHING (well, they asked for my passport xD)

No DS260 receipt or confirmation, no pictures, no docs... And they even returned my original civil documents without asking for copies (I brought them anyway)

They only asked us one question: How and when did you meet. That was it!!!

So happy, thank you all for your support, VJ is the best site EVAH!

We're now at 7 weeks since POE -- no SSN, no green card. The card isn't even optimized on ELIS tracking yet :clock: Did they tell you how long to expect the GC to take?

OK - POE was July 15th at JFK. Julie received her Green Card today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MoBar - Julie has not gotten her learner's permit yet. It's a long story - but we've bought a car and we cannot get her Learner's permit until we get the new car home. Otherwise, she would not be able to drive the new car by herself! So we'll use her Aussie license until we get the new car home, THEN she'll apply for her learner's permit.

I got case complete on August 18th do y'all think I would have an interview for October in the santo Domingo embassy?

You should. October scheduling should start in a week or so.

Yes I will add to the next months because its becoming a great topic. Thank you.

Anyone else with ideas or things they would love to see added for future people. Please let me know. Of course don;t want to put everything on here but you get the point of it all.

Here's a tidbit you need to add. When checking DHL Tracking by Shipper's Reference, you need to try both of the following formats for the first field "EXP 20 AUG 2014A" and "EXP AUG 20 2014A". They started haphazardly using either each day starting early August.

You mean you need to indicate a specific vehicle when applying for a learner's permit? If true, I need to plan for that. The vehicle we intend to buy won't start delivery until early winter. I hope they'll accept a long-term rental.

MoBar....no, that is not what I meant. Here's the story...

We bought a car from a private party that lives about an hour south of us. We went down to pick up the title and get it changed into my name, expecting that then I'd drive our first car, and Julie would drive the second (new) car home.

But there was a problem with the title. And it is taking about 2 weeks to get the title fixed.

If Julie went ahead and got her learner's permit, she would not be allowed to drive the second car back (since a learner may not drive without a licensed driver in the car). So we wouldn't be able to get BOTH vehicles back to our house.

Technically, she is supposed to get her learner's permit within 30 days of immigration, but here in New York, you cannot get a learner's permit unless you have a Social Security Card. Since that didn't come until about a week ago, we figure that she can legally drive on her Queensland license (by herself) for at least two more weeks so we can get the two cars home.

Hopefully the new (and corrected) title will arrive next week so we can get this done, and THEN she can apply for her learner's permit.

I wonder if one could drive alone if in possession of a learner's permit and a foreign driver's license during the grace period. I hope so, otherwise we have to stagger our applications when we get to Colorado. Lucky for us, we kept safe our SS cards from 25 years ago.
