I'm sorry if my questions sound stupid, but I seem to NOT find the answers anywhere even though I've looked everywhere. In filling out the AOS packet, on question #1 of part 2, the "last name" of the immigrant, do I put her new last name, meaning mine? They do not specify if maiden or not.

You will put the name you used on the I 130 petition , I am assuming her name on her passport is the same as the petition. You will NOT use her maiden name on the AOS simply because it does NOT ask for a maiden name.

Also, besides sending transcripts from IRS, and my paystubs showing proof of income, what are the other documents I need to send? I'm thinking of proof of my 401K as well. But what other documents do I need to gather together with the I-864EZ? Is this when I send proof of employment? or is it at another time?

Since you are the only sponsor meaning you meet the poverty guidelines you should include

1) AOS cover sheet (with the barcode)

2) I 864 EZ (signed and dated)

1) IRS tax transcripts

2) most recent pay stubs (6 months )

3) Employment letter

That is ALL you need as long as you are above the poverty line. (I also included the bank statements where it showed the direct deposits. )

But you should read saylins wiki for the NVC process http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process It explains all this thoroughly :secret:

I need major help Please people! Also, someone here told me to make sure to put my address in question 9 of Part 3 because even though it says (if different from mailing address), they may still mark it "with a checkmark" and cause delay.

must DEFINITELY fill that out . Alot of people got a checklist for that.

And lastly, if some questions do not need an answer, for example, my wife doesn't have a middle name, do we just leave blank, or write "n/a", or "none" Thanks for all the answers ahead of time, and sorry if I seem too innocent about all this, but I don't wanna get it wrong since it causes so many delays. :content:

Do not leave ANYTHING blank . N/A or NONE where needed.

GOOD LUCK :dancing:

P.S.

I have seen the "sample of I-864EZ", and still none of my questions are answered in there.

Checklist guys. As expected. But shockingly it wasn't for the w2 that I was thinking. They accepted all the sponsor's documents. She said the petetioner didn't check yes or no in a military question. And that we didn't add up the household size correctly. I don't know how is that possible. We marked one for himself, one for adding all others and n/a in married. Now let's wait for the email. I m still surprised though that they accepted the tax returns without w2 from what the operator told me.

Our AOS scanned date is the same but I have not received anything. I hope everything is gonna be no problem for both of us.

:crying:AOS checklist... For 2013 taxes and missing N/A's in the sponsor section. Oy... I'm pretty sure the taxes were included, but if not I will have to have a serious talk with my spouse <_< But the good news is that they picked up our file at last. Scan date July 10th.

Now, I'm freaking out about my IV package. I was under the impression that apostille stamps were not necessary for birth certificates, or equivalents. Mine was issued by the appropriate authority and has a stamp on it to prove it. People applying for K-1's have apparently submitted the same document at their interview and it was fine, but this is the NVC so anything that usually is fine is probably a problem....

Sorry to hear I wasn't the only one to get a checklist! Hang in there, we'll get through it

And congrats to all the case completes! Hope we get more of them today!

You'll receive either a checklist or false checklist email a day later. There is a chance that NVC has already reviewed your AOS package.

You can always find out by calling NVC if you want to find out sooner (or wait for a checklist or false checklist email). Fingers crossed! :star:

WOW. Unreal they're moving this slow! :-(

My husband and I arrived on Monday evening, we're settling in and getting used to having him here instead of on a video call has been a dream! I recommend Minneapolis POE for everyone, it was a BREEZE!

don't pinch him to hard !!! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Last night I realized I didn't print out the DS-260 confirmation page so I hunted for it and only saw the DS-261 I called NVC and the lady weird name said to go to payment page (which I had) and it would be there. I told her the only one I see was DS-261 but she insisted. I went back and nothing so I decided to click on the IV and went from one page to the next until I got to the end and sure enough you can print it out or send via e-mail. So I sent one to my husband and one to myself and it arrived promptly which doesn't usually happen. Just now I open my e-mail and there is another one but looks totally different than the one they sent me last night. Looks like the one below what do you think? Just a duplicate? The face of the one I requested they send me only had a few words in the body this one had all the below. :D

I guess the glitch has been fixed. Because many vj members had there ds 261 reset ted when they opened it in the past.

IV opens up after 30 business days of completing DS 261. So next week is your 30 business days . As for sending in the package earlier , its worth a try if you are willing to do so and take the risk

,

BUT...

This is what i have seen with my cover letters.

AOS = Attn: CMR AOS

IV = Attn: CMR

and just yesterday i received a false checklist and the cover sheet is Attn: DR.

Personally i would hesitate sending it earlier because of the different department's , CMR AOS, CMR and DR . I would not want ORIGINAL document being lost when sent to the wrong department, then having the department transfer the docs to the correct department God knows how.

I personally would rather wait two weeks to do it right , then having a delay do to sending the docs to the WRONG department. just my humble opinion :-)

Ye I agree with you, we have to wait anyway a week to receive copies of our wedding certificate. i was afraid it will take more than a week or so to get the IV fee.

I have the feeling that DR is the main department, and that CMR / CMR AOS are subdivision. I say that because on the NVC webpage here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html They explain how to send supporting documents (group C by regular mail) and the address is Attn DR. So anyway I think it is fine to send it to Attn DR, but I will wait 10 more days, just to be sure...

You need to request it yourself if your case drags longer than the others.

Sorry, MoBar65, I misunderstood you. My case really drags longer . From DS261 sent to NVC to IV bill invoiced it takes 70 days. So I was surprised that anybody wait for 30 days. Maybe, my husband need to call directly to our supervisor?

Congrats to you!

Call the NVC though (5 more hours to wait .. lol)

hey was your last scanned document 3rd JULY?!

they should be working on the 11th (MAYBEEEE 14th .. not sure)

ask them when your case was complete for us please

gr8 news

Thank you, hoping for the best!

Last scan was July 8th and when I called yesterday, NVC said they had not reviewed our case yet. So, if we have a case complete, it is a very recent thing. I'll try to call again later today to find out what's going on.

This is very good news! Glad to see this!

Thank you so much for your support! I really hope it is good news.

I think it's pretty good indication. I haven't heard any reports of someone getting N/A on the AOS fee without CC. Wishing you luck and call as soon as they open and report back!!!

Thank you, hoping so too!

She actually did tell me but I don't understand what's wrong with our hoisehold size. Maybe something is wrong with sponsor's household and not ours. That's y I m waiting for the email. Plus it's my brother in laws wedding on Friday. So husband's house is full of guests and festives are going on. So I don't think he would be able to prepare it before weekend anyways. And I can't bring myself to ask him to  this news killed all his happiness. I wish we had known on Monday or Tuesday so we would have saved a week.

Oh Samreen, I'm so sorry :( You have had to wait too long as well. If there's a word to describe our visa journeys, it's "unfair" :(

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

CONGRATULATIONS so very happy for you wow finally, THANK GOD ALMIGHTY.

Also, as an Egyptologist I really appreciate the Egyptian dancers :D

Is really effective to send the IV package in advance? I would definitely do it too, but i would like to know the real advantages

Hi, the advantage will be you will have an earlier scan date. Instead of waiting for fees to show as paid and then send them in, you can send beforehand. Fees will become available to pay in its own sweet time and your documents would have already started the "60 days to review" journey. Don't forget to include the AOS coversheet and write your case number on upper right corner of every document.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

11/07/2014: Interview.

11/29/2014: POE JFK.
