It would be best for your fiance to be there during the interview with you.

At the very least have a sworn notarized affidavit that he is aware of the child.

I would do a short consultation over the phone with a lawyer and see how to proceed, perhaps fill out a corrected application.

It may be the best $100 or so you will ever spend.

http://www.gurfinkel.com/imm_archive/2002/august04-2002.html

What concerns me is that you also lied on the K1 application forms where you have to answer if you have children.

Omission is one thing but lying is another. Whether or not it is material misrepresentation is for a lawyer to determine in this case.

You are lucky to have a very understanding fiance. He listened to your story and accepted your apology.. Not all guys are like that. Just do not lie to him and to anyone ever again, or you will suffer the consequences. What I admire about you? You are brave for telling the truth and sharing this situation to the public.

Just breathe, calm down, and relax.. No one here can tell you what is going to happen next. Only the consul will.. Good luck!

I need to ask you a questions, what if the doctor did not discover you had a child before, would you have told your man about this or you will keep him out of the picture?

Why did you not tell him from the start and let him accept you for who you are?

All the best in your interview, this might be some likely questions you might be asked during the interview...

On the other hand Im amazed that the Dr found this out.....in Thailand at the medical the doctors barely look. They just do the lab tests and X-rays and say Hi! and thats it. No significant physical exam at all for a young healthy person like yourself...unless there was an obvious Csect scar and they actually looked....

You sure about that? I was with Pui when she did her medical. She had to take off her clothes and put on hospital clothes and the DR did a look. She is a young healthy person.

I'm with you His and Hers.

The consulate will not judge you for having a child nor your past. I don't think they will deny you for this reason. Main concern here is that you lied when you signed your applications. The only reason you came clean is because the Doctor found out about this. Who knows the Doctor might mention this in her report so better tell the Consulate before they find you lying again. Honestly, how do you expect for the Consulate to trust you if you're not honest. This is why we go to interviews because the Consulate wants to know a little bit about us and how legit the relationship is. They ask questions because they're trying to catch you if you're lying or not. Like I said earlier, your past doesn't matter to them but what matters is an honest applicant. I have a feeling that you'll get approved but they might just delay your case. And good to hear though that you're bringing a statement from your fiancé because I think you'll need it. You're lucky that he forgave you it shows he really loves you and by the way there's nothing to be ashamed about your past. It's good you came clean now atleast you can start fresh from now on.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I would look at all the forms you ever sent to USCIS and if it asks about any children fill that form out again and bring it with you to the interview.

Thank you! I was just thinking about that, if I explain too much about it and yes I will don't panic for sure. It takes longer when I told this to my fiancee, I was really wait for the right time, before the marriage happen. First he visited me I'm not really ready to tell about it. Second, 50-50 there is a chance that I really want to open about it because I have to, until he left and go back to US but I never got a chance to tell. I want to tell him face to face about it, in a good mood, no stress, no jetlag. So I decide 3rd time he will visit no more excuses I really need to do it, no matter what, I'm ready! But weeks after he left on his 2nd visit he filed K1 visa which is I was very happy about it but how could I explain now? Too late. I don't want through call or text when I tell about this. This a serious matter from both of us I want it personal! So I need to tell him when we meet on his visitation again but its not that what happened. When the doctor finds out, then I says this is it!! So I did tell him right after my medical. He was really surprise and dissaponted at me, and I have to accept of what his decision I deserve that. I explained everything and he understand me and accept my apology and I was very happy and thankful for him, I am very lucky. He loves me with all his heart no matter what and so do I. That's why it takes longer I told him because I was afraid to lose him.

It is a rough situation and when the doctor finds out she said I lied! And asked when I gave birth and if the child is alive.. But I never realize my visa affected about it. In the first place I knew there is physical exam, but I can't said I have a child cos in my application I don't have. I accept the fact that I never matured enough to think about the situation. But it happened already I have no choice and see things what happen. Or this might be my experience about visa thing!! But I just hope, I have a chance.

What you went through was really tough and regret is always in the end. Keep praying and stay hopeful that your petition will not be denied. May Heavenly Father blesses you. :-)
