Just checked yesterday's mail on my way home from work this AM. My daughter and I both got our I-797C. There is nothing about a biometrics appointment on it. It simply says :

The above application has been received by our office and is in process. Our records indicate your personal information is as follows:
**** my personal info ****
Please verify your personal information listed above and immediately notify our office at the address or phone number listed below if there are changes.

Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office.

And that's it. Is this typical to NOT have a biometrics appointment? I thought it was strange I needed one, because they have my (and my daughter's) fingerprints already when we got our green cards.

Hi CopaMom,

The I-797C is only to notify you that they received and accepted your application and to give you a case number. It's pretty much the written confirmation for the email/text you received this past week. You can now go on to the USCIS website and check the status of your case using the Ref number they gave you on the letter. The biometrics appointment letter is usually issued shortly after you receive the I-797C. So you'll have to wait for a little while to get it. If you go on the previous months filers then you can see an average of how long it takes from one step to the next, which also depends on where you live, etc. Hopefully you'll be receiving that soon!

About the biometrics, no matter how many times you've done it, they always ask for a new appointment for every new application you file with them. Unless you've applied for something 18 months ago or less, which I don't think it's the case here. They want to make sure you are the actual person applying for it. I've done it 3 times since becoming a LPR, and this will be my 4th (and hopefully last!).

On June 13, 2014, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I did my bio today, early walking

USCIS
Sep 4th 2014: Filed I-130 petition as an LPR
Nov 24th 2014: I took my oath and i became a US Citizen
Dec 5th 2014: I faxed, mailed and called USCIS to UPGRADE my Case to a USC filling for am immediate relative.
Dec 25th 2014: I received a letter from USCIS asking me to fax a copy of my naturalization which is I did before.
Dec 26th 2014: I faxed a copy of my naturalization, copy of NOA1.
Jan 28th 2015: I called USCIS to ask about my upgrade, and the NO SENSE customer service doesn't know anything
Feb 4th 2015: I got an email that my case was transferred to local office for an interview.
Feb 24th 2015: I had a INFOPASS and they told me this interview about my Ex-Wife.
May 19th 2015: another INFOPASS asking why is it taking all this time to schedule an interview.
​May 30th 2015: I contacted Congresswoman and she contacted the USCIS los angeles office on my behalf and she asked me to wait 30 days
June 25th 2015: I received an email from the Congresswoman that i was scheduled for an Interview on July 6th
June 6th 2015: I had a interview and my case was approved.
June 8th 2015: I got an email from USCIS that my case was transferred to the NVC
June 8th 2015: I called USCIS to find out that my case was never upgraded from LPR to USC



NVC
July 14th 2015: NVC received case
July 14th 2015: I emailed and mailed a Copy of naturalization and the NOA2 to the NVC to upgrade my petition to USC
Aug 3rd 2015: Case # & Invoice ID # received via phone. (Case# assigned same day)
Aug 4th 2015: DS-261 available on website\Submitted DS-261
Aug 5th 2015: AOS Invoice available on website/Paid AOS Invoice
Aug 5th 2015: NVC accepted DS-261 (Confirmed via phone)
Aug 6th 2015: Paid IV fee
Aug 7th 2015: all fees show PAID.
Aug 7th 2015: Filled DS260 and completed.
Aug 7th 2015: I called NVC and they told Case still show F2A.
Aug 14th 2015: I mailed AOS/IV Package
Aug 17th 2015: NVC received AOS/IV package.
Aug 19th 2015: Scan Date.
Aug 20th 2015: Case was upgraded from LPR(F2A) to USC(CR1/IR1) (over the phone)

Please add me to the list. Mailed the package today 06/16/2014 via Priority Mail.

Lockbox is Dallas, TX and local/field office is Charlotte, NC. Application is based on 3-year marriage. Package includes

1) The form, copy of GC, 2 photos, check of $680, form G-1145

2) Spouse's birth certificate, Marriage certificate, IRS tax transcript and account transcript dated 2011, 2012, 2013, first page of bank statements dated from 2011 - 2014.

So, my fellow June filers, in amongst the progress reports I'm curious to know a little more about you. Allow me to introduce myself:

I'm Damian P from Southampton in England. I originally came over to the U.S. on a K-1 fiancé visa in March, 2009. The entire process (I-129, AOS, ROC) was plain sailing and RFE free. Sadly, my USC wife passed away suddenly only 8 months after we'd got married and as you can imagine, things got a little hectic for a while, but I opted to remain in the states and make it my home. Now, more than five years on, I'm re-married to.............wait for it...............an English gal! I know, right? All the women in America and I fall for a lass from my own country! And so after naturalization, the circle will be complete - I'll be filing as a USC petitioner for my foreign spouse. You couldn't make it up!

So what's your story, guys?
