tammi and cestlaviecherie,

This is what they say they require if you are applying based on marriage, from this checklist on the USCIS site: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/article/attachments.pdf

Clearly they seem interested in joint taxes but if you look at the documents referring to you and your spouse it says on a. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages OR birth certificates of children. So I think you'll be ok with what you have.

I'm not sure what the form 1722 is. I've looked it up on www.irs.gov and www.uscis.gov and can't find any reference to that. Where did you read that information?

I know that for the interview they ask you to bring your DL, passports and travel documents, etc...but not sure about that form you mentioned.

Hlee14,

This is what the USCIS requires when you apply based on the 3 year marriage:

"If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:
Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years:
a. Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth); or
b. Certificate of Naturalization; or
c. Certificate of Citizenship; or
d. The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouses current U.S. passport; or e. Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; and
Your current marriage certificate; and
Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse (divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s)); and
Documents referring to you and your spouse:
a. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children; or
b. Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past 3 years; or
c. An IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years."

So you don't need the IRS tax return transcripts, you can send either a, b, or c. You choose what makes more sense to you or what's easier for you to gather.

Now I'm freaking out a little bit because I sent an extra sheet of paper for the places where I lived in the past 5 years and didn't know I also needed to sign that paper (I did put my A number). This is the first time I hear about having to sign the extra sheet. Did anyone have to add a sheet of paper?

Where did you hear this requirement ? Let me know.

We did add additional sheet of paper for travel but we never signed either.

I suspect they will just request you to sign the attachment at the interview if they require it.

Thanks.

Am not concerned since they can discard the sheet and even then the application can be processed. The sheet was added to explain further.

Thanks second stage!

I called the USCIS and they said that I shouldn't worry unless I don't get my NOA in the next 2 weeks, then I should call them again to find out what happened. Clearly they don't have a specific guideline when it comes to that but I find it extremely unfair to put that kind of information on a tips page and not on the actual instructions.

I also checked my bank account and my check hasn't cashed yet. I'm going on a trip this week so I'm hoping to find some good news when I return! :)

Thank you dioxide45.

I have another quick question: how are you studying for the civics exam? Are they supposed to send us a brochure or should I just use the online resources?

The problem is i did not include the form so that they can keep me updated so i have no idea if they have even process it yet, So what should I Do to keep my self updated? Wait for NOA1?? Another detail is that i used the fee waiver form, So i dont know if that would make the process go slower as well... Thanks for the reply in advance, Good night Guys !!!

Sorry if I confused anyone.
