How genuine are the cases and claims?

Arranged marriages could be scams also. Not all but some. If you want to know just ask me for an experience. I would of randomly put up one, but that would be a lot of work if nobody listens or read it.

Anything could be a scam, though, Comic. Anything. I could meet a guy on the streetcorner today who tells me that his dog is starving and can I buy him a tin of dog food and he then turns around and donates it to win some contest. I could call up my brother and have him tell me he's got an infected foot and needs cash to pay for the prescription and then later find out he spent it on something entirely different.

Anyone can scam you. Any time. It's not exclusive to greencards, it's not exclusive to people you just met. It's not exclusive to people of a specific demographic, whether that be national origin, sex/gender, social status, age/age difference or income.

We see, on VJ, a much higher rate of problems than is seen in the general population. There is no one profile of scammer, because anyone can be, so judging any group or relationship type as being the culprit is judgemental as heck.

You are here judging me off of my views and calling me judgemental. Everyone in the world is a judgmental person, it's inbred in us to judge and kick up against things we don't like or we don't find normal or to not like someone's else views cause it's not in line with ours. That's just how human beings are. We are judgemental one way or another. Open your eyes to the bigger picture

"It" is not "inbred" nor is anyone "inbred" to be judgmental about an issue. It is reasoning and well thought out understanding

and plain logic that should form your perspective, the absence of that is an opinion which doesn't make it a fact.

This is not about how someone feels about everything and anything, this is about discussing how genuine a case may be

pertaining to immigration.

You are saying you judge all arranged marriages to be a bad thing and you admit you are being judgmental.

You are welcome to your opinion and we have a right to voice our own but please don't project your attitude

on anyone else here and say we are "as bad as you" to make yourself feel better.

I don't 'kick up against things' I don't like because I consider myself an adult with tolerance that lives and lets lives without

stigmatizing any couple. I do have a brain to think for myself and no gene pool in my make up will auto pilot me or drive my thoughts

to be judgmental about arranged marriages. Give me a break !

It is you who does not see the bigger picture in your 'inbred believing' prejudiced opinion but again you are entitled to it,

whatever floats your boat.

Opinions are like an orifice, everyone has one but they need not be stereotypical generalizations and prejudice notions

if you don't want them to be and allow yourself to be open enough to see, especially on a diverse immigration forum,

that every culture has their own traditions.

Instead you see only your own as valid.

I have read threads like this about varies countries....someone was scammed so they proclaim

the entire country scams because they can't take accountability for their own choices. Puleeaase !

What on earth is so hard to understand about people being all different and some scam and others don't ?

Why must you bring an entire cultural thing under the umbrella of a scam ?

Calling everyone who is in such a marriage a scam is just ridiculous and insulting to members here

and just because Joe Blow down the road you may have heard about scammed someone in an arranged marriage

doesn't mean all are scams and shams.

Can't stand stereotyping and I judge that as bad and am proud of it !
