Hi,

Firstly...did you send a letter of intent with your application? One from each of you are needed. I had an RFE for the same thing, I totally forgot to send the letters.

An example of the letter I submitted is below.

I would get this sent in asap and you will be back on track :-)

----

Name

Address

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

California Service Center

Date

Letter of Intent

Dear Sir or Madam:

I, "your name", do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry "your partners name", and intend to do so within 90 days of my arrival into the US using the K-1 visa.

Yours truly,

Your name

His post is titled "K1 Visa Rejection...."

Yes, he did, but I specifically said, "he didn't say it in the comments of his initial post". I figured he just wrote the title out of anger and without thinking.

Just curious, if you get a RFE, do they update the case status on the uscis website, requesting for additional information? My fiancé (the petitioner) is away so he wouldn't be able to receive it if they send a letter at home. Or do they also send an e-mail?

I understand your frustration. But you just need to stay positive, do what they ask and try to be patient. We had to wait a month before we could even send in our petition because we didnt have the money. After that it took six months to finally get the visa. Which was surprisingly fast because at the time the estimated processing times for k1 visas was 10 months.

We got an RFE too, because we forgot to check 1 box and filled in the wrong biographics form even though aside from the name of the forms theyre both identical.

It may seem ridiculous but it is just how it is. Soon enough you will be living in the states with your fiance and all of this will just be a distant bad memory.

Keep at it. Everything will go your way in the end :)

6 months ago? Better be prepared for longer than that! I totally understand your frustration, I am still waiting on 10 year green card ROC from February 2013!!! The whole thing is a pain, but worth it if you are truly in love and wanting to marry that person. My K-1 wait felt like forever, but once I was here and once we were married we could look back and laugh at the experience. You could always go the other legal route with the marriage in your country then AOS, but I believe that takes even longer, you'll be asked more questions, and you cannot live in the same country til approved (same as now then!) Sorry, but I would stick to the legal route! I know there are tons of illegals here, but we aren't going to change that. At least you can stand with your head held high knowing you did the right thing...even if it takes time...good luck!

He needs to be able to receive his mail. The contents of the RFE is in the letter only. You might not know it is coming because the website updates are not always accurate. Postal mail is accurate and required.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

He's in the military so he is away for a couple of months. He currently lives with his cousin so he said he will be informing me of any letters that my fiance might receive. Nothing so far. Thanks for the quick answer... It's been already 3 months since NOA1, should I be worried?

One post advocating illegal immigration activity has been removed along with one post quoting same. Several other posts responding to the removed comment have been edited to remove the quoted comment only.

While this process is incredibly frustrating and emotionally draining, please do not violate the Terms of Service and post comments advocating immigration or visa fraud, even out of frustration. Such posts will be removed.

Thank you

If you did not "hand write" a letter and sign it as to how you met, your intentions, and the aprox. time line, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

I wrote a "handwritten" letter, 4 pages describing all, and my now, wife, wrote a one page, YOU have no complaint to USCIS.,.,.,if you did not include these letters!

You do not mention if it is an rfem denial, or what it is, yes everybody at TSC, should be disturbed, about the wait times, but Vermont was worse!

We both got an e-mail to say an RFE was on the way, and it updated on the website. But the website doesn't tell you what the RFE is for, and they won't tell you - the beneficiary - on the phone.

Regarding the original post. If they are asking for a wedding date/time frame, it seems a bit mean, as you probably haven't fixed a date. How can you, when you don't know when the visa will come?

However I guess all you can do is write them a statement outlining plans for your wedding. i.e where you plan to get married etc.

Our RFE wants more evidence of us having met....I already sent a load. All I can do is send it all again and more. We have to do what they ask.

Plus, as someone else pointed out, at least there is action on our files.
