My wife filed for me january and we have not heard nothing yet, this Seperation is damaging,we are going through a lot apart.I think this process takes too long

If you think it's been too long and it's damaging your relationship already, I have bad news for you.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

I think everyone here will agree with you that the process takes too long. Unfortunately for all of us the volume of petitions and bureaucracy make it so. Being apart is difficult as everyone here will agree. You and your wife will need to find ways to maintain your relationship (phone calls, Skype video calls, text, visits) until the process moves forward. Be realistic with your expectations. Look at timelines of others who are from the same country and filed the same visa type as you. We filed our I130 in March 2013 (China) and my wife's visa was approved on April 23, 2014. VJ is a great site to commune (and agonize) with others who share your frustrations. Be patient and good luck on your journey!

It's absolutely crappy, but at least there's an end in sight, you know? You don't know exactly when, but the day is rapidly approaching when you will have the love of your life and your best friend by your side every day. I've been LDR with my partner, now my wife for almost three years and until last July, there was literally no way for us to be together, in person, legally. Her career needs her to be in the US. There was no legal recourse for me to be able to move to be with her. Our best guesses on when we might possibly be able to be together were at least a decade out and they depended on her being able to get transferred, once she's done her PhD and at least one post-doc position, to a country where I would also be eligible for a visa (there's very little work in her field in Canada). And even if we succeeded at that, there was no guarantee either of us would be able to stay there long.

And now it's only a year. A year, even a year and a half, isn't that long. You can do it!

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

Everybody here agrees with you. Now, be patient. Expect your interview 10 to 12 months after the petition was filed. Nothing you can do to change that. Complaining will certainly not change it.

Be patient. You have a long way to go. I filed for my Husband August 5,2013. And we are just now waiting for an interview date you won't hear anything until at least July. But you should be here by Christmas hopefully.

While you wait, read up all the details on what to do at NVC (check out the NVC filers thread for great info) and what to prepare for your embassy. This is what I did when I was waiting. Don't be that person who gets his/her petition NOA2 and then asks "now what?". Stay patient, stay strong, and stay informed.

Try not to get too frustrated- I filed in June last year and my interview is in three weeks, this is a lengthy process. Use the time apart to get prepared for leaving together and think of it as a small part of the rest of your lives together :)

NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

My fiance filed I-129F for me after 5 years in long distance relationship. Don't consumed your energy with such negative feelings. Learn next steps, make busy yourself with something more useful, read tons of posts here especially you're from the country that well known on VJ as "high fraud for US visas".
