Similar thing happened to us, received March 21, check list April 7, around 2-3 weeks, they lost our new AOS form, and I was checking, there is a change in AOS form from last year for I-864Z about dates in right up corner, and down right corner. My husband send the form also in February, I called but they didn't accepted, and told us to send new one. My advice download new one, and fill it and follow the instructions how to fill it.

Did your application reach NVC yet? :clock:

I noticed that you got approved on 4/8 (what service center?).

It's possible that your application has arrived at NVC by now.

Aww thank you I did get a letter from USCIS saying they sent it to NVC last week and I called yesterday and nothing. I was sent to the arm pit of all service centers Nebraska. But thank God I'm out of there now. I was lucky I guess wasn't asked for anything just waited like an idiot.

I'll make sure to call when they open and then at night if there is still nothing. Talked to Jim and he said to wait at least a week more hahaaa but as he said that I was thinking yeah right I'll wait a week. :P But he was very nice. Thank you for asking that is very kind of you. :)(F) (F) One for you and one for your love. :)

Okay so here's a pretty weird, random and bordering-on-stupid question. Do you think I could be added to my husband's insurance now even before I'm in the USA? Here's the reason. We really wanna get pregnant as soon as I get there and we're hoping to get a head start on any waiting periods the insurance has before they cover maternity. It's usually a 6 to 9 month wait before the insurance kicks in, so if he adds me in now in May and I get there in August or September, we save about 4-5 months and then have to wait less time before actually getting pregnant. Does that make sense? Anyone?

Makes perfect sense to me and not a stupid question at all. I don't see why he can't add you now but then I am only assuming. Best of luck hope he can add you now. :)(F) (F)

It's all very dependent upon the insurer, the only way to know for your individual case will be to have him call and ask. Most likely you will be subject to an "open enrollment" period, which is a window during every year when people are allowed to sign up for or change their health coverage. My insurance is through my employer and our open enrollment period is in February, so I had to add my husband to my policy then. It wasn't a problem for me to add him without having a SSN. Your immigration may also qualify as a life event that would make you eligible for a special enrollment period. For instance after a marriage insurers will give, say, 90 days to add the new spouse to an existing plan, then the window closes until next open enrollment. I'm not sure if immigration will fall under this life event category but it's worth asking.

Basically there are weird rules about when you're able to start coverage here; they're designed to prevent people from simply purchasing insurance when they get sick and dropping it right after, but they may give you a bit of a headache. Your husband should get on the phone with his insurance provider to figure out how it'll work for his plan.

I remember this was discussed before.

Most insurers will require dependents to be added in these conditions:

1- Life event: birth of child, marriage: within 30 days of the event

2- Open enrolment: usually November of every year for coverage the year after

3- Loss of benefits: if the spouse loses benefits due to job loss

Bottom line, your spouse has to call his insurance and ask, different insurers have different rules.

I added my wife in November and I'm paying for her benefits knowing she will not be here until July!!! but it is well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

Talked to Kelly this morning at the NVC.

She told me that they review the DS260 first. And it takes 30 days for them to review it.. Then they review the AOS and IV.

Obviously an inaccurate answer . I really hate the 30 day line they give.

I was really just checking to see if they did anything with my case since I called yesterday morning. I know I'm jumping the gun a little.

After waiting 11 months at the USCIS, I just want the NVC part to be over. :protest:

After march 31st the flu shot is no longer required since flu season is all but over. :secret:

That may vary by country actually. I thought the same thing (that flu season ends at the end of March), but when I went to my medical at the beginning of April, I was informed it was still flu season (until the end of April) and I needed a flu shot. I was pissed, cause I hadn't read that anywhere (not here on VJ, not on USCIS/NVC's website, not on CDC's website), otherwise I would have gotten a (free) flu shot before hand

Actually I have not received the CC email yet. Now starting to worry a little. I do not think they are going to schedule June interviews before next week at the earliest. So no point calling them this week to enquire about June interview.

For non-EP folk, it takes about 7 days to receive the case complete email. You should be getting it sometime this week, even today possibly ;)

They use the excuse that they have to close because of the demonstrations most of them didn't even come close to the Embassy only twice maybe three times, so they have been closing a lot and backing us all up  . In a way I can understand but in another I can't because I want this to go fast. Plus I don't know if all Embassy's are the same but the counselors and pretty much every one that works there US or Egyptian and just plain mean and rude. I mean there was one counselor that told the beneficiary, Quote why don't you marry a really young Egyptian woman and have kids with her. His wife had kids from her first marriage and on top of that he laughed when he saw his wedding pictures and was just horrible. This is common place and why they have four inches of plexiglass to protect them. :ranting::bonk::ranting:

That's horrible! I'm so sorry for you! :(

Just remember guys, the case complete email isn't actually needed for anything and doesn't tell you anything you don't know from speaking to an operator. In fact, my letter told me less, because it didn't mention my actual completion date. The case complete email is just a finger-wag reminding you not to book any travel, sell off worldly possessions, etc. :P The good stuff comes in the interview letter! Hopefully those will start going out in a week or so :) I can't wait to see the good news pouring in!
