Calling NVC right now to check for a case #!

I'm on the 5th week after they received my I-130, so hopefully we'll have it today!!!!

GOOD LUCK NEIGHBOR ! !

I don't understand why they didn't just send your K3 out to the embassy. All this time wasted for a case number... smh You should have gotten a case number for both... I really think it depends on who receives the cases and if they know what they are doing.... 10 year NVC vet or 1 week newbie

Nothing yet! but thanks for the wishes!

They told me it could take the entire 30 business days period.

I'm at 21 right now!

For the K3, they keep on telling it is on admin. processing and of course no time frame!

I'm really getting fed up with all this!

I'm really having a hard time understanding where the NVC stands as far as the K3.

On Friday afternoon, I called them again and had a heated discussion with customer representative Joy. I told her from the beginning that I was not trying to give her a hard time, rather I was trying to actually understand what was going on.

She assured me that my K3 was not closed, but when I told her what other customer representative told me, she got mad at me and said that I already know everything and that I was not making sense bla bla bla bla..

Anyway, the emails I got from NVCExpedite said that it takes 2 - 4 weeks to process K3 at NVC before it is sent to the embassy. Customer service representatives tell me there is no time frame at all and my K3 is still undergoing necessary administrative processing.

I fell I'm back with the USCIS confusion again.

But anyway, my point to Joy was that when NVC receives I-129F and I-130 at the same time, they are both giving case # and then I-129F is then closed. but in my case, only the I-129F was giving a case number, and that's actually what got her to lose her cool.

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

Everyone must fill out DS260. It can be confusing because many references on the internet are outdated and don't reflect

the changes to the process that have been in place since labor day of last year.

Your DS-260 will become visible in the CEAC portal.

Hi, I just completed DS-260 online. I followed the buttons (i.e. pressed everything) at the end and found this interview pdf stating that Form DS-2001 (notification of application readiness) needs to be sent to the embassy for the appointment to be scheduled. It looks like it was updated in September 2013. Could anyone confirm that the informations on the pdf are outdated and that I basically just have to wait now for the case to be completed and for an interview date? Thanks!

Just got off the phone with NVC. Case Complete as of yesterday. OH, thank God.... I have seen some other Montreal people on here say they have a interview scheduled for May 21. Does anyone know if they usually do all interviews on the same day??? Is there a good chance we will be scheduled for this day as well??

Congratulations!!!

We have a May 8 interview date in Montreal -

I think they do schedule some interviews on the same day, but it is hard to tell just from these boards/spreadsheets how many are scheduled in a day since Visa Journey is only a portion of the interviews at the consulate. I noticed for April there were a couple scheduled on the same day, and then just some other dates throughout the month.

Awesome thing is that for Montreal, the wait time is not long.

Like BOS_LRH mentioned - the consulates may be done scheduling for this month but If there are spots available this month you might get a May date. If not, you definitely will get one in June.

Hey guys,

My wife needed to get her passport updated with spouses name in order to get PCC (a little strange). At the NVC stage when we submit the passport, is it okay to submit the old passport since the new one is in processing, and show the new one at the interview? Or should I wait for the new one to be completed and then submit that one?

Hi All,

DS-260 question.

Do I receive a checklist for my DS-260 once it is reviewed and if they find something wrong with it?

Thanks!

I have a lawyer and he is not responding to my requests to talk to him on the phone. We just got noa2 a few weeks ago, I'm going to call nvc and see if they received our case and try to get a case number.

I think I'd like to fire the lawyer but I don't want him to Jack things up for us. Is there a way to get him off of the case without messing things up?

Some questions I have :

I will be thoroughly studying the nvc wiki by Saylin, but I just found out about it and maybe some of my questions are answered there. If not, here they are:

What are the next steps after noa2? What forms do we need? We have lawyer?

Have the police certificate, it expires in 90 days. What should we do? Will we need another copy?

Should I have the police certificate translated and send that with the original in?

Sandra got another birth certificate, should she keep that one and I mail in the original that I've already had?

Should I have another original translation made? Should I send an original translation in?

Should I do the same with the marriage certificate?

What else do we need to get going? Tax transcripts? Should I get two copies?

Any other forms I need?

PCC issued in India will not have the following

1. Married or single status

2. Address of residence

To save your self a lot of issues, you can simply try to apply for PCC as single .
