This is a silly question but how long does it take for physical NOA2 to arrive? I was approved on 11th August and still haven't received Approval Notice. Has it taken anyone more than 10 days to receive it?

Hi there! It took me almost 4 weeks to receive the hard copy of my NOA1, I'm assuming when I do finally get approved (God Willing) that it will take about the same time to receive the hard copy NOA2. I think it just depends on whether you're inside the US or not. I was/am outside the US when I received my NOA1.

Well, I am in the US and my NOA1 arrived in 7 days so I was hoping that same would happen and will receive NOA2 with in 7-8 days, but since I haven't received it yet, so I have been little worried.

JFH,

Should I be worried about not receiving just yet? Or wait till 30 days and have them resent it? Thank you.

I wouldn't worry at all. For CR-1/IR-1 it's not even needed. I have saved ours purely for the scrapbook. You don't need to take it to the interview or anything. I received the email and that was enough for me to know it had definitely been approved.

Oh that's good to know. The other reason, I was worried about is because of if NVC doesn't receive the file than I thought I would need the approval letter. Anyways if that's the case than I would sit tight and see if I receive in 30 days if not than I will ask them to send it again and hopefully by that time Nebraska send my case to NVC and the next process can being soon.

Thank you again now I am much relaxed.

You got approved on the 11th of this month. NVC should have already received your case. If you have the USCIS app it will tell you if they have or not. The NOA2 will take a second to come in the mail.

I have checked the app, the status is still at "Case was approved on August 11th, 2016." I found that they have not sent any cases that were approved this month. JFH looked through VJ timeline and also found same thing. I am hoping they will send the case to Department of State soon. I have a feeling that to catch up on backlog they may have delayed the sending cases to Department state. I have also called NVC and they say they have not received the case. Do you have any suggestions on how to have case sent to NVC? Thank you for notifying that NOA2 may come little later.

They have sent some for this month. I was approved 3rd August and sent to NVC 18th August. I haven't received the hard copy yet but I'm overseas so it takes a while, plus I did an address change which I'm not sure has been actioned. I did get email notifications of both though

I-130 Petition Process:

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017

That's good to know that they have sent some. I know for sure another February Filer who was approved on 2nd August, whose case hasn't been sent to NVC either. I guess I will keep checking and praying, did it for 6 months, now hopefully few more days.

Hello everyone!

Our PD is March 29. I've been checking the app and it seems like over 80% of the cases for this date are already approved/ RFEd. Ours not being one of them, even though all the cases around it are already taken care of.

As it is getting closer to the 5 months mark, I'm considering giving USCIS a call if doesn't get approved within this week. My question is: are there any tips on which kind of questions to ask on the phone to get more information on the case? I'm just scared to hear something like: "you are still within the normal processing time, call back in 2 months" and no answers at all.

As the case itself, I was really hoping for no delays since we've been married for almost 5 years, never lived apart and my husband lives overseas with me now. The only hypothetical complication i can think of is the fact that I had a CR-1 before (through the same husband) and then gave it up voluntarily due to us moving out of the US. Also, I live in Singapore which is not the country of my citizenship. Does anyone know if these circumstances could cause delays?

Thanks in advance! I good luck to all still waiting for NOA2 :)
