Approved @ 139 days!

Sent in March 29th, approved August 14th.

Haha now I'm at a loss for what to do next; it past feels like this was all we were waiting for but still a long road ahead I guess!

Hey Guys,

I just found out today while gathering documents for AOV in advance that I made a spelling mistake on G-325A for my wife's mother's first name. How should I correct it? My wife's passport and birth certificate has the correct spelling. Should I not do anything a I-130 is approved or should I have her inform the interviewer that it was honest mistake? Any help/suggestion will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Any advice on this? Should I call USCIS to see what can be done?

9/6/2016 - Case was sent to NVC (received text & email)

9/12/2016 - NVC received our Case from USCIS... wait continues for NVC case number

9/27/2016 - Submitted -261 and paid AOS fee

9/29/2016 - Received and paid IV fee

10/9/2016 - Submitted DS-260

10/15/2016 - AOS and IV package mailed to NVC

10/19/2016 - Scan Date

12/07/2016 - Case Completed

12/27/16 - Interview date received over the phone

12/30/16 - P4 letter received

I wouldn't worry about it. I would just mention it at the interview. Was it just a typo? So the name is correct but spelt incorrectly (eg Jayne instead of Jane)? If the name is completely different (eg Mary instead of Jane) then I would call.

Yes, it was just typo. Her mother's name is "Mina" but I spelled it as"Meena". I read other threads and it also says just have corrected G325A with you in interview so I will also do that

Thanks JFH for your sound Assurance. However, I did not take your advise as I was losing my mind worrying over this error and ended up calling USCIS and NVC.

This is what USCIS has to say: "We can't do anything as after case is approved it's outside of our Jurisdiction. I can either write the letter to service center that approved the case to inform them or have correction made at the interview as you and many other VJ post suggested."

This is what NVC has to say: The agent that I talked to said that there is nothing to be worried about. The mother's name can be corrected through DS-261 as it's one of the required field.

I have make sure that I do not make the same mistake again. Now I am much more relieved.

Hi Yall!

So we already received the NVC letter; quick question tho', there are two sections to the letter which mention supporting documents required.

Are those to be provided by my husband(US Citizen), or by me? As he isn't sure, hence, i'm asking in case anyone here already started

on the NVC, or already completed the NVC.

Received our NOA1 on 1 Apr 2016 and radio silence till this morning. No no ... no approval yet. Got a RFE instead!!! Can't imagine what we missed out or need to provide. Anxiously waiting for the notice to arrive. Hope this won't set us back too much :ranting:
