I'm an Oakland A's fan...yay for dollar wednesday's and dollar dogs! (and Eric Chavez...oh yes)

I'm also a National's fan because that's the closest ballpark to us now...

I'll pretty much support anyone who's playing the Yankees though

Kirby Puckett passed away today. He had a stroke on the weekend. Don't know too many details.

I was never a Twins fan but me and my dad were always Kirby fans. He was classy.

Sorry to have to tell you this.

I inhereted the Twins as my team and Kirby as my fav. player from my dad. I stopped being so interested in baseball after he stopped playing.

Minnesota Public Radio has some decent pieces on him.

I'm stopping by the metrodome on my way home from work today to pay my respects.

I always liked Kirby Puckett -- imagine, a pro baseball player who actually looked like he enjoyed playing!

Very sad.

used to like Mark Wohlers... ex-closing pitcher for the Braves... haven't heard anything from him in FOREVER!

i think he is out of baseball.....had some psych problems if i remember right

On dollar wednesdays the tickets were $1 a piece, now they are $2 (bargain...man, the upper deck is the most fun deck anyway...and you can always move down

The hotdogs are $1 too...on cold days my buddies and i would buy 8 of 'em and stuff them in our jackets to keep us warm

Love the A's...the atmosphere is awesome and the tickets are cheap...just how baseball should be

I agree gotta go with what you love, not geography, but those seem to mix in most cases. I love the Red Sox because my dad loved them and instilled that in me, but obviously its because we live outside Boston and the love of the team was passed down for generations. So I'm just curious, how did those become your favorite teams? Was there a connection ever or those are just the ones you happened to like?

as a native northern californian, i root for both the A's and the Giants. with a preference to the A's. I loved watching A's when rollie fingers, vida blue, reggie jackson, etc.. as a kid.

we live 90 miles away so it isn't easy to go to the games. I quench my baseball thirst by going to the locall AAA ball, Sacramento Rivercats. it is,somewhat, cheap fun.

I was going to play golf at a local course and saw a fellow in an As uniform so chatted with him for a bit. Come to find out he was Blue Moon Odoms. He really got pissed at me when I asked him what it was like to play with Reggie Jackson! He was a pretty cool guy and was there at the course doing some sort of promotional stuff.
