I still can't believe it!!!! We sent the first package at the end of December, 2013 (the 19th or 20th, I think it was) knowing it'd take a while to get to Texas with the holidays. It did take a while but we still got the first notification by e-mail and text January 3rd. We settled to wait for months and months but I just got an e-mail from USCIS (I signed up for the check status mailing list) saying that it's been approved!!!!!! It's only January 28th!!!!! Is this true??? I won't believe it until my fiance gets the envelope. It was sent yesterday, the 27th, so it should take at least a week or so (he lives in Illinois)

He's sleeping (it's 2 am there and we talked last night and he hadn't gotten anything or he'd have told me) That's another thing that is weird... They send them at night, Texas time?

Wow... I thought it'd be at least 3 months or 4 months!! Now I'm all scared I won't have time to do everything... :-P I'd better look at the VJ guides again. Btw, thanks for this amazing website and forum!! I would never have been able to know what to send in the I-129F package otherwise. Thank you all so much!!!

That is very fast and sounds real the way you've explained it. Have you checked your case on www.uscis.gov using the case number provided with your NOA-1? It's another way to confirm that it's been approved. From here, your case will go to the NVC for further background checks. After that completes it will be forwarded to the US consulate.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Def very fast but it is possible.

my total time from filing i-129f to being visa approved was just over 4 months.

4 weeks is great though. Think my noa2 took around 6-7 weeks

We won't mind if they process ours out of order! This is good to see you have had this happen so quickly. I hope you have enough time to do everything you need to do. I'm sure we too would be wondering what to do next if the 4 - 5 months was much less.

WHY CANNOT ALL K-1 BE LIKE THIS, AS IT SHOULD BE, but me and my wife had to go through the Dinasour called the Vermont Service Center, it should be retired to an ancient relic! AND all employees, caused to "walk the plank"..,.., guess you can tell we had a great experience with VSC, all 186 days of it!

I feel so good for these quick approvals, as I try to realize, what that would have been like for me and my wife.,.,.,,.can only dream.,..,.and remember the 186 day nightmare!
