Someone may have said this already but...

We got a RFE because we took "passport OR birth certificate of USC" to mean "passport OR birth certificate of USC" LOL. We put birth certificate and not passport, and they RFE'd for the passport so my advice is read all OR's as AND's ;)

Good luck to you dear reader :)

oh well, that's stupid. We also only submitted her birth certificate...Not everybody even owns a passport...

... or read it as a binary OR

Did anyone get an RFE for leaving the Apt# empty (instead of writing N/A)?

I left Apt# blank (cuz I was living in a house at the time) and did NOT receive an RFE for it.

I just sent in copy of my passport and no birth certificate and there was no problem. I have heard of a number of people sending in BC only not passport, with no problem. As usual, it all depends upon was employee is looking at your case, NOT about the hard and fast rules!:wacko:

I noticed somebody asked a week or so ago if there was a list of all RFEs so people could look out for possible "boo-boos." So here we go!

My RFE reason was;

The forms we downloaded didn't tell us to add evidence of meeting in the past two years or frontal face photographs. Which is weird because we got them directly off the London Embassy site. So we got an RFE for basically the other half of what you're suppost to send origionally. We started the K-1 appliciation before we found this forum so we were kinda just going with the instructions as best as we could. We say if you're just starting the I-129F download it from VJ...they seem to have the right instructions....

I received an RFE on 6th april , for not providing primary evidence ,coz we are not aware of it. Initially we had sent our engagement pictures only.

RFE letter clearly mentioned to provide flight tickets, boarding passes , place of meeting , credit card transactions, hotel bookings, movie ticket stubs, etc.

We have sent them on 17th april and received a confirmation email from CSC on 2nd May 2007.

Anyone has a clue how long does it take for approval?

I know this question has come up a few times in different topics but I'm always looking for more opinions.

When I sent in my packet, I only included a photo of us together (and didn't even date it, d'oh!) and a letter signed by a friend verifying she's met Adam too and yes, I met him in person. OBVIOUSLY not enough and I surely have a RFE coming.

I have all the info I can find (passports, boarding passes, credit card statement showing charges in England) and was wondering what's everyone's thoughts on sending this stuff in now, before I even get an RFE? Kind of like an ammendment to my original packet.

I don't want it to get lost in the shuffle if I send it in without their letter requesting it so they know what it's for, but of course I'd include a cover letter explaining the situation.

Obviously I would be keeping copies of everything so that if the first batch didn't get through, I could still answer an RFE. On a bit of a side note, Adam is here right now for a visit and I would love love love to go to our local immigration office in Detroit together and be like "here we are, we've met, can you write me something verifying this? They'll have to believe YOU!" Haha. Kidding, of course. But man that would be so much easier than all this copying and ordering copies of my boarding passes and other stuff I just threw away!

So, what do you think, guys? Yay or nay on pre-empting an RFE? Anyone tried it, and did it work?

Michele

Please resist the temptation to send anything in now! Just think, they receive HUNDREDS of applications every single day, and they pile up for MONTHS before employees have time to get to them. The one you sent in is now somewhere among tens of boxes stacked high around rooms and against walls. There is no way they will be able to match up the info you send now, with the application you sent in several days ago.

Be patient and wait for the RFE, when your application is sitting cozy and safe on someone’s desk. Have everything ready to send in immediately when you get the RFE, then the info you send will go straight to the correct employee’s desk and within a handful of days you will get the NOA2 approval! That’s what happened to me! Good luck!

I got an RFE for Marlon's divorce decree. I guess it was supposed to be 2 pages but he had sent me one. Marlon emailed both pages to me and I am dropping it in the mail tomorrow. This doesn't bother me too much as I see it as the US watching out for me. *shrug*
