It can be tough huh? I'm so sorry that you have to go through this... but it's part of the process and most of us have been or ARE where you

are now... Administrative Process means they are doing extra checks on things. This is where you need to have a lot of patience. My husbands

interview was approved the day of his interview... then our case went into AP and it took 5 month's. It made me crazy. I'm not saying yours will

be that long... but when you go to AP... it's usually at least 90 days. So stay strong... and stay busy... and write them every 3 or 4 weeks just

so they can let you know what your status is. Good luck and stay close to VJ... a lot of people are going through what you are... you can be a

support to each other... this is only temperary!! Keep your chin up... :)

You can go through AP at NVC stage also. If they want to further investigate that can put you in AP @ NVC stage before they ship it to the embassy.

NVC

The NVC is a clearing house for all cases processing abroad at Consulate posts.

An approved I-129F petition for a fiance visa is transferred to the National Visa Center for further processing. Transfer from the USCIS to the NVC is made both electronically and also via physical file sent through the government pouch system. A case should normally take a couple weeks to clear the NVC.

The NVC will help a U.S. consulate preprocess by setting up the file in a way that is acceptable to the consulate. Consulates can have unique methods of case processing and so the NVC acts as an interface between the USCIS and consulate. Processing times for K1 fiancee visas vary at the NVC due to the peculiar requirements of the various consulates. There are more than 150 U.S. consulates that process K1 visas, so there are quite a few variations.

The NVC will also order a police background check on the U.S. citizen and also on the foreign fiance. Automated background checks can normally take a couple weeks. If the automated check turns up a “hit,” then the case can be placed into a manual check, which can take months to process, depending on immigration staffing. When a case is delayed at the NVC, it helps to determine whether the delay is the result of a police check, or whether there is some other concern.

I have a VJ friend who also has the beneficiary from Jamaica. Her fiance was on AP for a few days before ready for interview at consular section. She emailed US embassy asked for packet 3 and packet for. She told me that she will missed the interview date if she did not send an email. I would say better ask your fiance to send an email to them ask your case file by giving your case number as a subject of your email.

The delayed probably due holidays. So, better to do proactive action to get know where you case file now. Good luck, girl, and keep us posted.

PS: I did not experience AP at NVC stage, transit 2 days there and ready for the interview afterwards.

I have had this very same experience with National Visa Center (NVC).The NVC holds my case for 19 days before they shipped it out to the emabssy in Kingston. We receive our case number the same day they had receive it from USCIS,and the lady told my fiance that they are gonna put our case in their system at that moment.some times when we called that's what they would told us and majority of the times they would tell us that our case is in Administrative processing, and that they can't gIive an estimate time of when it will be completed.on one occasion my fiance called and they were giving him the AP line and he requested to speak to a supervisor and that's when the operator freely offered more information than the normal ap line.she told my fiance that the embassy in kngston is the porblem, that the embassy is slow and they are waiting on them before they can send the file. The operator also told my fiance that when they receive the I129F files they don't really do much with them, they only assign the case numbers and shipped them to the appropriate consulates so our case was not going through AP.after that called our case was shipped the next day.

You are not in AP at NVC level for a K-1. You have your KNG number??? Start working on your paperwork to get interview scheduled, and your other documents. NVC is only supposed to issue your KNG number and then forward your files to Kingston. This is ridiculous, why lie!

Seems u people arnt understanding what am saying ...for I never said anything about getting a visa or being approve..... I said its still at nvc , not that its at embassy

We understand what you are saying, AP can happen at any stage, USCIS, NVC or embassy, and just because it is a k1 doesn't meant AP will be faster than a cr1. You are the one not understanding. The point is the only thing you can do is wait.

AP can and does occur at any stage.
