No. If there are no problems with background checks then do it alone, if there are get a Attorney. A Agency is a bypass for people that either don't know what their doing with the initail paperwork and is a scam. If you feel unsure, then hire the Agency.. You will regret that PAID simple documentation later as I did.

Will the petition be faster if you use an agency?

No.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I heard several stories where using an agency or lawyer slowed down the process.

Just make sure to read all instructions, and then read them again. Take your time filing out forms, and make sure to proof read them once you're done. You'll be fine!

You dont need an agency, all you need it is read very well the instuctions and follow them.

My fiance and me didnt use an agency and we were approved in 4 months, even my fiance made a mistake sending only the check and the form i-129f.

Alomost all people that do that are denied, but we were lucky and they send a letter asking for all the papers missing,

Now i waiting for my interview date.

Follow the instructions and send your petition by yourself.

With an agency only you are going to spend extra money

No it will not be any faster.

Right now these K visas are flying through the system. In my time here (over 3 years) I don't remember a time when the average wait was less than now. Just follow the guides and make sure your petition is correct before you send it.

Agency wont make it faster, and neither will a lawyer. Do everything on your own, just research and ask questions here. In time you will realize that doing it on your own was a better choice because you get updates real time and not have to wait for your agency to give you attention like they promised. It's one thing to not get an update after directly inquiring about your petition, its another thing to have to BEG and yell for an update from people you PAID to do this.

If you're able to read accurately, interpret literally, and answer completely and honestly, you'll have the best chance of submitting paperwork successfully yourself. If your case has no "red flags" (illegalities, visa overstays, etc.), your petition and your visa application should be approved.

For anyone to say "you'll be fine" as a blanket statement is premature at best and irresponsible at worst, because no one knows all the details of your case.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I tend to disagree with most all of my fellow Vj'ers.,.,no, initially, you do not need any help, if you just do what this site says to do.

BUT, after the K-1, (Philippines) we got a very reputible agency, and the paperwork after the nVC sends your paperwork to the embassy, can be very tricky. Like here in the Phils..,.,.,.the CFO.,.,my, now wife, almost went with only a copy of her NSO birth cert..,,,.,.which would have been rejected.,.,.just one example.,.,they also had ""inside lanes""" to getting the interview, and escorted her from Cebu to Manila, and was only a few hundred dollars.,,,...,its all in what you are confronted with, and HOW comfortable are YOU with your paperwork when you get through NVC.,.,.,.,,.,

To me.,., the few hundred was a great investment! THEY did it ALL!
