Comments : We were called in on time. Very pleasant officer interviewed us but sitting behind her in the corner was another USCIS who was observing. She asked for proof of our relationship. I gave her: 1 utility bill (comcast), life insurance policy showing my wife as beneficiary, a notarized letter from a friend attesting to our relationship, a letter from our bank saying we have an active checking account together and that was it.
After that she proceeded to ask my wife all the questions we had previously answered on the I-485. Then she asked my stepdaughter the same questions.
After this, I asked them to stamp my stepdaughters Passport with the I-551 stamp because she needs to go back to Ukraine to take some exams for University.
The officer then said they needed to check some things and we should wait in the lobby until called again. About 10 minutes later she came out and showed us the I-551 stamp and said congratulations. She then gave us information about applying for the 10 year card in August of 2012.

Embassy Review : Tanya and her Daughter (Masha) arrived at 8:30 for a 9 am interview. They were done and approved by 1 pm.
The questions they asked her:
How we met.
How many times (and the dates) of trips to Ukraine
Why didn't I stay longer on my first trip (I was there for 6 days)
Why I got divorced from my first wife.
What do I do for a living.
Where does my Ex-wife live? (this question I found a bit odd)
That was it for Tanya.
They didn't ask Masha much of anything except What she thought about me. And then they told her in order to maintain her Green Card she would have to spend 6 months a year in the USA. She was also advised she should finish University in the USA. (not going to happen, unless USCIS or the state dept wants to pay for it).
Tanya told them that she has a ticket out of Kiev in 4 days and they told her she should be able to pick up the FedEx in Kiev on Wednesday or Thursday.
The visa was picked up on Thursday and they both flew out on Saturday as planned.

Embassy Review : We were called in on time. Very pleasant officer interviewed us but sitting behind her in the corner was another much sterner looking fellow. She asked for proof of our relationship. I gave her: 1 utility bill (comcast), life insurance policy showing my wife as beneficiary, a notarized letter from a friend attesting to our relationship, a letter from my bank saying we have an active account together and that was it.
After that she proceeded to ask my wife all the questions we had previously answered on the I-485. Then she asked my stepdaughter the same questions. She never asked for anything else and didn't ask me any questions.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
