I just called us embassy manila, and told me that only petitioner can do the cancellation to follow the procedure..since my ex f doesn't want to,whatelse I can do just to cancel it? Thanks

Does it affect my future application?

I might be wrong, but I read the other post a while back that you don't have to cancel K-1 visa is already approved. Just let it expired and not using it enter US.

So, you only have an approved I-129F petition, and not an actual approved K-1 visa, correct? If you never went to the interview and were approved, then there is no K-1 approval. The USC is the one that filed the petition and they are the one that must cancel it. All you can do is let your embassy know you will not be pursuing the K-1 visa and let the petition expire. If you do have the actual K-1 visa, you can simply tell the consulate you do not wish to use it and they will either have you come in and cancel it, or tell you to not use it and let it expire.

I'm worried that it may affect my future application? I heard that really need to cancel it before file a new petition?

I think they are talking about cancel the petition but not a K-1 visa. You'll be fine since you have a right no to use the visa. The only matter in front of the eyes of COs is if you were seems fishing for K-1 visa when different guys filed I-129F for you and not getting approved. Now that sounds suspicious. But, you already have the visa and you can choose not to use it.

Yes only the petition approved, never been on interview yet...I called the embassy already to let them know that I want to revoke it,but they told me,I can't do the revocation, just only the petitioner!!

Oh, okay. I see. I-129F and K-1 visa are different. I-129F filed by USC ( petitoner) for fiance (e) and K-1 visa filed by beneficiary after I-129F is approved. You have to ask your former fiance to cancel it because it will affect your future application. There was another post here about that.

I tried contacting him but he just ignore it.I told him to please cancel it but never got an answer from him

You have to ask him to cancel the petition. There is no any other way because surely in the future it will affect your application if your future USC fiance filed for I-129F.

The only way to cancel is by the petitioner, end of story.

Why are you worried about potential future petitions? That won't sit right with the embassy, it will look to them like you are fishing for a US visa.

there is a thread about this on facebook, a filipina got a 221g on her interview because a few years back a different fiance filed a k-1 for her but did not go through with it, they broke up after filing so she didn't know what happened with the petition then, now the US embassy manila wants her to contact her ex and let him cancel the old petition, problem is she doesn't know how to contact her ex as she says it was a long long time ago

Oct 11, 2013 : sent I-129f

Being you have not started the visa application.... do nothing. You can email the embassy stating you will not pursue the K-1 visa then save that email for "evidence" one day down the road should you need to.

Easy way to save the email is to choose PRINT then CHOOSE Microsoft XPS Document Writer, then save it as a file.

Contact info (including email) for the embassy is in my link below.
