Should we blame the Tea Party for the healthcare fiasco?

I am sure you would be more than happy in doing that. Time after time experts had said this is a bad deal.... its is not worth it but dems had their head up the ####### not listening.

New approach was not beneficial to noone other than insurance companies.

There is very little to blame the tea party for since they have accomplished so very little!

personally, i find it hilarious that the people who were so ready to shut down the government for their own little side show and political fame grab are scared to death to invest in THE ONLY OPTION THAT WAS BROUGHT TO THE TABLE. tell me, what exactly has the right done to fix our broken, completely kaput, healthcare system?

i'll tell you what they brought..obamacare. before it was officially obamacare. boy that kenyan sure does throw a wrench in things.

You did not absorb what I was trying to say.. I am saying Obama care is going to make it worse.

I am not advocating doing away with Doctors, only providing low cost options for routine care., like getting a few stitches, colds, hang nails etc, A while back i had an ear infection. I went to the local Doc in a Box. Waited 2 hours. The intake nurse said, yup you got a nasty ear infection, the doc will be with you shortly.

Doc takes a look.Yup you got a nasty ear infection. Here is a prescription for antibiotic drops. So three hours and 450.00 dollars later I am off to the drug store.

That is insane.

I am not saying do more of the same. i am advocating "NO MORE INSURANCE COMPANIES" they are the problem. Provide care for all. Socialized medicine, single payer, National Health care, whatever you want to call. Take the over 50% of people in health care that do not provide health care and put them to work providing health care.

So you are one of us libs who really are not that happy with the ACA and its reliance on greedy private insurance companies, and would much rather get a true progressive program like 'Medicare-for-all' or even a government run health service like they have in our US military! Good for you!

Screw the Republicans and the Democrats, everyone here is doing exactly what they want you to do.Line up like Fans for a football rivalry and cheer blindly for your side.

What would the Pubs have done...Zilch Nothing as our system continues to fail.

What did the Dems do...They gave it steroids. They just rewarded the insurance companies that are the problem.

But like a good little sheeple you cheer on your side on point the finger at the other side

Wake up.. Both parties are equally absurd.

Far from a liberal but we can't keep doing what we are doing and Obama care is going to make it worse.

Yes a military style system would be fine with me..

Right now i got an ingrown toenail..I would be fine with a Medic cutting it out. Heck give me some Lidocaine I will do it myself.

Yes I have had 3 touches with our healthcare system for other than routine care in the past 2 years. every time charges exceeded wildly what was promised, bills came came in triplicate from any provider that got near us. Appeals flew left and right and it takes hours of my time to call, write, follow up etc etc.

It's disaster..I am converted.Destroy what we got and start over. we are all ready paying for it.The cost per person as a % of GDP will go down.

Guess what my Philippine wife told me this week. USA medical care is awful, I want to go home if I am sick. The American system is insane.

lol. i'm not doing anything one way or the other. i know the system is broke and i know it needs fixing. i also know what other countries do, i know what works. i don't know if obamacare in its current form is going to permanently fix anything. i do know that our current method is done. over.

if you have such a big issue with obamacare, maybe find a politician that has another solution? another solid step in the right direction. any ideas? i mean, obamacare is really romneycare so he wouldn't have faired much better..

Exactly they are all the same wolf dressed in Different clothes.

While i am at it, I would like to ban political parties. Every person run on their own platform, and don't go to Washington bound to vote however your frat brothers tell you to.

As god as my witness I will never vote for another Dem or Repub again in my life

I am watching Vermont. They are planning true universal health insurance to begin in 2017. Details still need to be worked out but they at least are trying a sane approach. While the ACA is a step in the right direction it is still too invested in our private insurance companies that have so severely distorted US health-care. The most ridiculous idea is to just go back to what we had before ACA. The system was/is broken and needs to be completely rebuilt!

lol... Not at all. That's not what I said or implied. What this means is that my employer has offered comprehensive coverage all along and continues to do so. Obamacare does not make that coverage any different, more expensive or anything else that some would like to claim. That is how I always understood that line - if you have a plan you like, you get to keep it. For the vast majority of Americans who have decent employer sponsored coverage, that is true.

Now, there are lots of people that have insurance policies that are not compliant with the ACA requirements - sometimes those policies aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Those policies will no longer be available since Obamacare does set common minimum standards for health insurance policies. That is to ensure that people don't pay for plans that won't provide them the required benefits when they get sick. These people do not get to keep their plans and that much was clear as well.

We really liked the policy we had on my wife and son. In the 18 months we've had the policy we've only paid $20 out of pocket since he left the hospital after he was born. All other charges have been covered. Now we've lost that policy and the new one we're being offered is 51% higher. Both of his pediatricians have left their practice, one retiring and the other one going back to school.

I really wish employers didn't get a tax break for providing health insurance in the first place and we wouldn't be in this mess. People would have bought their own policies like we do and there would have been more competition for their individual business. The small percentage of people with pre existing conditions could have been handled with much better legislation than was passed.

IMHO, if the administration had been completely honest, ACA would not be law now.

Socialism works in some countries. It won't work in the USA. There are too many people riding and not enough pushing.

Oh maybe we could tax the corporations more and put price controls on them. Anybody for that?

I would like to find out how many people on VJ will have thier Insurance go down in cost (Affordable!) and how many will have to pay more... Actual information instead of what the press is generalizing in numbers.

I have just been informed that my insurance premiums will go up in 2014 (see below for amount). I have employer supplied medical insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield on a family plan. My deductable will also go up. Luckily my co-pay and most other items will stay the same. I am also lucky as i will have insurance unlike a lot of people I know.

Premium increase: $1,716 per year (this is the increase, not total)
Deductable increase: $1000 to $1200
Total cost increase per year: $2,176

And for those people that say the company is not paying thier share,,, My company will have to pay more than $12 million for thier part of the employees insurance premiums.

I am also currently working with a company in Minnesota, and last week the owner informed the workers that he is cancelling the employer based insurance. (there is to much risk for him) They are all very upset and are trying to get on the system to see what thier options are. There was about 150 people in the company.

THANKS OBAMA CARE!!ranting33va.gif

Obama administration knew millions could not keep their health insurance

Is that the "pro-admin reporting" that Harsh keeps talking about?

With friends like these at NBC, Obama sure needs no enemies.

Funny thing about that. For a space of about 12 hours last night, this article was mysteriously removed from the NBC website. Then, when it became clear that the cat was out of the bag and that the internet chatter was heating up about the missing article, NBC apparently made the decision to go back to reporting the story, rather than becoming the story.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
