It's been over 60 days. and I am in US since I file

Then you've most likely been transferred to your local office. Call USCIS and talk to a Tier 2. You'll have to be persistent (they don't always like admitting cases have been transferred, for some reason) but if you're demanding enough they'll tell you where it was shipped to and on what date. Then you can call the local office and find out what's going on.

Calling one isn't going to do it. You'll probably have to call a few times, and like I said, be persistent. Don't ask "if" your file got transferred, ask "when", so they think you already know. Just be firm.

I find it hard to believe your case is still at NBC. If it is, it's probably on its way out the door - maybe they just got backed up and haven't transferred it yet. I'd call to find out the transfer date, though.

You can't do an infopass at NBC. You'll have to wait until NBC confirms your case being shipped to your local field office before you can go in person. But like I said, calling once isn't going to do the trick - you might have to call a few times before anyone wants to give you any real information. You also just filed in March, so it might take another week or two for them to ship it out. Just make sure you keep on top of calling every so often.

Thank you,

I don't think calling everyday would do anything but put you on hold for over an hour or anxiously waiting for a callback AND hearing the same unpleasant answer.

However, I would call once every week just to get an update on the file landing; NBC Vs. Local Office.

We started calling last week and same thing, they call back and say "your case is being processed" then we ask is that good or bad then they say its good because its in process.

That's more so what I meant. Calling everyday will just stress you out, aptiger. Just call every two weeks or so to see if there's been any update on the transfer. Once they confirm the transfer, you can do more research on your local office and be a bit more hands on with the petition.

I just went to my local immigration office today with a info pass. They looked up my I-130 applications and said they are still in the NBC office. I asked if they are in review and they said they are just there. My date is March 19 I ask if they get review there and they said yes that could happen. She said they only get cases when the NBC has too many to review. I told her I was leaving the end of Next month to go see my wife. I ask if I should have any response she said I should by next month. It was easy she just scanned my paper work and able to tell me quickly. Now I will be interested to see if this scan from a local office help the progress. I know others are calling NBC I wonder if anything we try will help move them along. Again she said you have to patient I said I tell that to my wife and stepchildren. She also said that the process should take 5 month that included the interview at the consulate. There were only 5 people in the local immigration office when I was there not busy at all. I waited 5 minutes before I was able to meet the agent.

That's a very unrealistic timeline she gave you. The vast majority of people don't even get their NOA2 within five months. Even after you get NOA2, getting through NVC takes 1 - 2 months (more if you're unprepared with the correct documents, or if your file takes a long time in arriving), and then it's a few weeks of waiting for an interview to be scheduled (usually a month or so, maybe less if your embassy is quick), and then another month until the actual interview itself.

Those steps in themselves are going to take five months. I got my NOA2 in mid January, and am just now going to go to the interview on May 29th. Thinking you could get through the entire process, from NOA1 to having the visa in hand, within 5 months is nearly impossible to do.

Not trying to tell you you're wrong, just saying the woman who gave you that info was wrong, and you should expect a much longer timeline. Somewhere between 8 - 12 months.

I agree with you but I though is was funny that they keep tell you this. I am hoping to be done in 8 to 10 months. Just hope to have my family here in the USA by Christmas. This just show how out of touch their reality. I would just like the truth but seem our government has a hard time. They are tell us (We Can Handle The Truth) thanks Jack Nickolson.no0pb.gif
