i did service request because i can't track my case online.

no i am not living abroad.

I also did service request couple weeks ago because I had the same issue not being able to see the status online and they did not tell me that they will send me a letter.

I still can't check the status online maybe my file is just sitting there collecting tons of dust.

Friends I decided to take an infoPass and went to the local office this morning.

Here are the snippets of our conversation:

Q: What brings you here?

A: I petitioned for my spouse and I have no idea where my application is and what is happening to it.

Q: Smile on his face and said can you check your case status online? What does it say?

A: No information on the website about my case.

Q: Probably then it is already sent to NVC.

A: Would be really nice but I don't think so because I haven't received NOA2.

Q: What is the case number?

A: Blah blah blah...

Q: He pulled up the information in his mainframe system and said, "Looks like your application is still at NBC." I will send out a service request on your case today.

A: Thank you.

Now, I don't know if it is a good thing or not but he also said that he could pull the file at the local office but if NBC is already working on the case then it would delay the process. I said lets just leave it at NBC then and i left the office.

I went on a Info pass on May 17, 2013 and they said my case was just sitting in NBC. I ask if it was in review and they said no has not been looked at yet. I filed on March 19 is my date on my paperwork receipt for NBC. My local said that they only get cases from NBC when they are too many to process. Nothing yet no0pb.gif

Hi guys....

Our NOA1 was March 18th. Both petitioner and beneficiary living together abroad. I have been tracking our status just fine online at the USCIS website. I usually check a couple times a day since we should be aproved at anytime. Today I checked the website and finally says something other than initial review. Now it says .......

"At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information"

I think I remember reading some where on here before that this has happened to other's and it means we got NOA2 and sent to NVC. I want to believe that but the other part of me is just thinking an error with their website. Anyone have anything similar happen, or have any ideas about this?

It has definitely been sent to NVC. Please call to confirm and good luck in advance.

I wouldn't say it's "definitely" been sent to NVC. It's a possibility, but USCIS often makes mistakes with those case updates - they say you've updated your address when you haven't, it goes back to initial review after approval, sometimes it disappears for a few days before coming back. I would call in to see what's up, but don't get your hopes up just yet.

I say definitely because on Monday I went to USCIS office and I told the IO that I can not check the status online, it says it can not be found. Then he said, "Well, then your case must have been sent to NVC". Since IO said MUST I added "definitely" and you are right it might not have been sent to NVC and the only way to know for sure is following your advise. CALL! :)

Well I just waited on hold for 2 hours. After talking to a VERY rude woman I still have no idea. She said she doesn't know why it wont show my status online. I asked for a status update. She said I am not sure why you are worried about it. It has only been 2 months. When it is approved you will hear from us. I asked what center it was at. She said it is at the Missouri service center and that is all I can tell you.

Sorry friend I don't know what to tell you, it is a government that runs on our tax money and yet we are treated like s***

I would suggest calling back again and request/demand to speak to a Tier One IO.

Probably the lady you talked to was a robot, I don't mean literally but the they speak a script not from their head.
