I'm a Croatian from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I'd love to move to the USA.

I don't have a academic degree. I was born in Germany.

Like I said I am Croatain by nationality meaning I can live in Croatia if I want to and Croatia just became part of the Europena union.

I speak english, german and croatian fluently.

How should I go about this ? What are my options ?

My dream is to come to the usa and get a normal job and in the off time build a career in music as artist.

Does it help if I find a job online first before I apply ? I do have a cousin in Arizona. And a american facebook friend offered me a room in his house in Atlanta. If I need a US citizen to guarantee for me I definitely think I could get it done.

I'm 26 year old, male, caucassian. I have never been arested or in jail-

My work expirience is having worked as bartender in Germany for 4 months, here localy I worked in a cyber cafee for half a year. I also gave about 40 english lessons localy too.

I have finished gymnasium (highschool).

Have you applied for any jobs in the US?

Or are you looking to move independently of a US company sponsoring you?

A USC friend or cousin cannot 'guarantee' for you, they will be irrelevant to your case at this moment

good luck

Your options are currently quite limited, particularly as you have no degree.

Work visas are done through sponsorship - you apply for a job with a US company who is willing to apply for the appropriate visa for you. There's no general purpose work type visa you can apply for without company sponsorship.

Here's the full list of work visas: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1271.html

Note:

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Temporary worker visas are for persons who want to enter the United States for employment lasting a fixed period of time, and are not considered permanent or indefinite. Each of these visas requires the prospective employer to first file a petition with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. An approved petition is required to apply for a work visa.

Another way to come to the US, temporarily, is through school programs. If you applied for and were accepted into an appropriate US university, for example, you could be a student in the US.

The final way is on a family-sponsored visa, but you did not mention any US citizen family members.

There's no friend visa. You can visit as a tourist, of course, but not work that way.

Without a degree, not much.

You can look into an artist visa, but you don't appear to be a professional or working musician. For that you have to prove you have a promising career and have had prominent gigs.

AOS for my husband

Realistically, it would be hard at best.

The 3 common ways to become a resident in the US are:

1. sponsored for a job, which requires that a company cannot find anyone in the country and can then hire you and eventually sponsor you for a green card (initially they could only sponsor for a work visa)

2. married to a US citizen or be a close relative to one (but then, depending on the exact relative it could take a while)

3. visa lottery, if your country of citizenship has a quota.

Since you mention no degree, that could make the first near impossible as the job sponsorship usually means an exceptional skill that is hard to find. Finding a job online could be an avenue, but be aware that it is not really very common except at high professional levels that a job happens that way. Now there are some non technical professions that used to have a priority, don't know if that is still available.

One other option is to come as a student, which means you would need to demonstrate economic means or a sponsorship from a college; once here, upon graduation, it could be possible to stay and become a resident; but usually the path involves a STEM degree (Science, technology, engineering, math).

There is no such thing as an American citizen guaranteeing you, even people who are trying to obtain a visa for loved ones (yet non US citizens) have a very hard time and many would like to have the guarantee possibility but it does not exist (to the best of my knowledge at least)

Sorry that there is not much of good news here.

I was looking for a limited time work visa, like work for 1 year. If I find a "regular" job online in the USA could I get a working visa for 6 - 12 months ?

I guess if I can't get an visa I'd have to become a successful artist from here, trough the internet.

You are forgetting about the EB-5 visa. I like it, I think it's the bestest.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yup.

Millions, if not billions, of people around the world would love to immigrate to America.

There has to be a screening process because we cannot handle that many people.

The US admits about a million new immigrants every year. There are many paths to the US. You would need to find one that fits your credentials. If you don't have the credentials, then go get them if you want an immigration visa.

The Diversity Visa may be your best shot. You may want to research that.

DV or EB5 seems best bets for your case.

born in Germany? why not pursue that line , instead? you have papers, proving German birth? If so, move to Germany for some time, get citizenship there.
