Hi,

Currently in the NVC stage, received an RFE for my AOS. but NVC has already received the corrections. In a bit of a dillema though, my wife lost her mobile, and that is her primary way of contact (other than email address). Is it possible to update NVC and tell them that my wife has a new number? Will this cause a delay? Does she need the telephone number? Is an email address enough? (scheduling embassy appointment). Thank you.

They shouldn't be calling her about anything, everything should go through email.

Yes. You can call but in my experience the NVC doesn't call you. They will send the packet 4 (P4) interview letter in an attachment of the email. You need the interview letter anyhow.

They will review it when they review it. They need 20 business days to do so but it may be done quicker. Hopefully it'll be done by next week sometime if it's not by today.

Even when setting up the interview?

interview is set by a human, which triggers yet another email generation, stuff thrown into packet 4.

Help me, help you? How is packet 4 received by the beneficiary?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Recieved an RFE for my AOS last week. Resent all the requirements this week and NVC succesfully recieved them this tuesday. Today I got an email from NVC regarding my DS-230,

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still
waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return
the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this
letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
address provided.
Do I have to mail anything? What is the next action for me? I already mailed the checklist letter, and I called them last tuesday and they confirmed that they did recieve a mail.

Sounds like a false checklist based on NVC reviewing/accepting your DS-230 package. I dont think they got to your AOS checklist yet, and I also dont think u need to do anything now. Its up to u if u want to call them to ask just to be sure.

As Bismark said, this is a false checklist based on them reviewing (and very likely accepting) your IV package. They very frequently issue these false checklists without checking if the mentioned package has been received. There's nothing you need to do except confirm with NVC.

I called NVC later on friday and finally got a nice and helpful person. She said they reviewed my AoS and there is a small error in the gross income section I need to correct and that an Email will be sent with the checklist and the cover letter soon.

1) When do they send the email, It has almost been a day with no email. I hope I won't have to wait until next week to simply be notified!

2) Can updated AoS forms be sent back via email for non-electronic processing consulates, or will I have to express mail the updated forms?

1. Typically within a few days you should receive it. Keep an eye out all weekend and early next week.

2. Nope, only EP-eligible countries can email packages and checklist responses.

As for your IV package, looking at your timeline, you sent the IV package about 2 weeks after your AOS package. If they just reviewed your AOS package this past week, then expect another 2 weeks approximately or so until they get to your IV package. Could be faster, could be slower.

what was the error on the gross income? they told me the same thing and two weeks later they send me a checklist saying we are sorry your gross income is correct the error is that you left blank the house total income ? It would of been a bummer if I was doing everything by mail.
