Hi

I am new to this forum and was looking for some answers concerning my visa status. My K1 immigrant visa got approved last month and I was gonna fly to US in a month or so to get married there. sadly, my fiance passed away suddenly few days ago. It is a huge shock for me but i want to go meet his family for some closure and comfort. I want to come back to my country after this visit. Does anyone know what happens to the visa status? Did it get terminated upon the death of my fiance? Could I still enter US? If someone here knows anything about it please share. Much thanks!

I am sooo sorry for your loss, however, your petition is terminated with the death of fiance. I would suggest applying for tourist visa.

Thank you everyone for your sympathy and prayers. I am going to contact US embassy for further information. It's a sad time for both of our families but prayers give me strength and everyone's love and support. Thank you once again :)

I'm sorry for your loss as well.

I seriously don't want to make it any harder on you than it already is, but I feel that it's best to tell you that a tourist visa will be very difficult, because they will see you as someone with immigration intent. If they have sympathy for your situation, they may give it to you, but you will need to be ready to prove very solid ties to Pakistan.

I hope everything works out for you as best it can, under the circumstances.

What would Xenu do?
