What happens when people don't get approved?

I'm not feeling well and I'm restless, so I was browsing through photos of couples here on VJ. I started wondering what happens when people are denied, especially if they are already married. Does the US citizen move to their spouse's country? Or does it usually end in divorce? What's been the trend that you've noticed over the years?

This is a interesting question. Now I'm asking myself what I would do. If our paperwork is denied I suppose we would appeal or whatever the processe is, but ultimately I would move to my husbands country if we couldn't get approved. Today marks exactly 5 months since noa1.

The trend i've seen for K1's is people getting married and refiling as a spouse.

For spouses, I've seen a few move to their spouses country, maybe less than 10 (not that I frequest the MENA forum to know for sure) and then refile (hoping moving to the spouses country shows legit relationships), a few divore under the strain, but a lot of the time people continue fighting until they get that approval.

We asked that question also and my answer is I would move to Brazil. The one advantage is its easy to get residency. We have looked at some places in Brazil we would like to live and I do not speak Portuguese. My hope is for her and the girls to become US citizens. I own a house its already for our family. So the transition would be a bit easier. I am committed to my wife and the girls as she is to me. When we married it was with the intend for life.

My wife already moved with me to south Africa where i had my job., and now back with me to Jordan.., i dont think she will ever leave my side., you dont find good partner everyday in your way, do i suggest you to stick to what you have and face your problems, fight for it.

If we couldn't get approved, I would either move to Morocco or we would try to live together in Europe (something we have been interested in doing anyway). We aren't interested in living in Morocco long-term though, as neither of us wants to raise kids in there, so it would be for a few years only and then refile. I don't have kids, pets, dependent parents, a house, etc so moving overseas wouldn't be an issue.

We are far from that possibility though, since we are still quite aways from even applying for a visa-mostly because I want to be well-established jobwise (finally got one but it's only a limited-term opportunity) so we can avoid that exact scenerio!

I'm in the same boat as Mounir412, on AP, and waiting, but ultimately if we were denied, we would re file, appeal, whatever it takes...just because someone denies you doesn't mean that you can just forget your love after all, if your meant to be with someone and truly love them your willing to fight through anything and stick with them no matter the wait or trials.

I agree with you. I just know that I could not move to Jordan for a variety of personal legal reasons, and even the thought of a denial for him to be here makes me nauseous. Our process was easy because he was here on an F1 student visa already. But after browsing so many photos the other night, I started wondering what people do to solve the problem.

If there was another denial like the first with the K1

I was willing to stay and live with him in Morocco until we exausted all possiblitites of getting his visa approval. It was too much to be apart and waiting.

There are American schools and beautiful coastal places to live for my family. Or as another young lady mentioned, Europe.

What I really wanted is for US to have the choice of where we could live together. Not the consulate.

We have discussed this many times. If he is denied, we would appeal, given the opportunity. We have discussed filing again, but we miss each other... So we have also discussed my moving there. I have student loans, however, and would hate to screw things up here in the states for us, should we ever decide to try again. So, we will hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Here or there, we will be together, eventually.

Had he been denied we would have appealed until we exhausted all options. We discussed what would happen in the event of him never being approved, I would have moved to Jordan. I would have had to delay moving to Jordan until my youngest is in college. I would have spent the summers in Jordan and traveled back and forth at least a few other times during the year until that time came. My children and their well being come first and foremost, and my husband agrees they should come first when it comes to where we live. Children are innocent and depend upon their parents to take care of them, I would never do anything to disrupt their lives if I can help it. Luckily the process was pretty easy for us and my husband has been here since last October.

I've thought about this so many times & it makes me sick to my stomach.. Unfortunately, i dont ever want to live in egypt.

Every time i go, im ready to come back home the second week. I'm not ready to leave my love, but just the country. I miss home to much.
