Receive the NOA1 today. Guess what? We got California Service Center.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Pissed off. My fiance needs medical treatment and we get the worst service center.

It goes in cycles. In a few months California may be the fast one again.

The CSC processing time at the date of your NOA1 doesn't really mean anything. August 2012 CSC filers were probably very happy to have their case sent to CSC when it was processing I-129F at a 2-3 months pace at the time. Except it slowed down and they are still waiting.

It may be the other way around for you.

We will see. Either way I'm not a happy camper right now. I wonder how the sequestration issue will change processing times. :bonk:

Start by updating your service center in your timeline, and you will be able to see the estimated date for your NOA2 change overtime. :)

I've read that they both cycle through, and at times either one or the other or both may not be working on K-1 visas at all and that they will suddenly make them a priority for awhile and they speed through. I think that whatever the pace is now may or may not change what it is later.

If you want a grain of hope, spring and summer months the past two years have traditionally been when the most applications for k-1 were processed, so if the trend holds steady for this year, things should start speeding up any time now (if they haven't already)

Can a put in a request to route through Vermont?

Nope.......CSC was golden for me way back when. Get her the medical treatment if she needs it.....why would a K-1 visa factor into those plans?

I would do whatever, whenever if my wife needed something, especially right now. I hope you know this isn't a cheap process, international relatonships?

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I have a good job with full medical coverage but to put her on my plan we need to be married. I already talked to HR about it and they need the marriage certificate. That is where the K-1 visa factors in.

She doesn't want to do her surgery in Colombia with EPS, I don't blame her. I can pay to put her on private insurance down there but she has to be on it 1 year until they would cover the kind of surgery she needs.

International relationships are not cheap? We've been together since 2009. I know. :D

From what I understand summer time is when they get swamped with K-1 Visas.

I have to tell you, if the service center you are assigned to is a big problem for you, you are going to have a lot more problems. The VISA is just the beginning. The petition is not even the beginning of the beginning.

Chill out. You have a long way to go and if you think a few weeks difference in the I-129f will make any difference down the road...you are imagining things.

What WILL make a difference is if you pine away over useless stuff like the ever changing timeline and not prepare for your fiancee's new life here.

The petition is done...look ahead.

It could totally change over time. I got VSC. And everyone who filed at the same time we did or the month before and got CSC were approved in 4 months when it took us 6.5...

So try not to worry too much about it.

I hope it speeds up soon and the wait won't be long.

Good luck!

Good luck in your visa journey!

As far as i know once they received the I-129f in TX it will be routed to the service center where your state is assigned.

CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER if you are in one of these states:

AK, AZ, CA, CO, GU, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, MP, MT, NE, NV, ND, OH, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, or WY

VERMONT SERVICE CENTER if you are in one of these states:

AL, AR, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MS, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OK, PA, PR, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, VI, or WV

It may also change if these service centers will transfer it to another service center like NSC or TSC.
