Did anyone create their own barcoded coversheets as described in LingChe's NVC ShortCut guide?

I wish I did that (but I was scared of rejection from NVC, especially when sending original civil documents) because some people have apparently finished the entire NVC process in 10-13 days total! :bonk:

It's been 45 days since NVC gave me a case number (and 51 days since my NOA2) and I'm still waiting for "NVC case complete". :clock:

You don't need to create your own bar-coded cover sheets anymore. That portion of the guide is YEARS old. It's for back when you couldn't make payments online; you could only send checks and money orders. And then you'd have to wait for NVC to receive it and then mail you back the bar-coded cover sheets. Someone discovered a way to create bar codes, so when they confirmed with an operator that the bill was accepted, they'd then send in the respective package with the created bar codes, thus saving a few days from waiting to receive the NVC bar codes in the mail.

But, with the payment portal now, the bar codes are available as soon as one pays (which is done online now), so there's zero need to create your own.

By the way, in the timeline, I saw "receive instruction package" under NVC, it's after the IV bill paid, which instruction package are they referring to?

It's the IV information package.

Hello all,

I just got my NOA2. I have a question regarding change of address. How often I can change my address cause I have to keep moving? And if I change the address, does my wife need to submit another DS3032?

Also, I've seen here people talking about expediting the case? How can I do that? Or is it only works for citizens? cause I am LPR.

Thank you

You can change your address as often as you want. No need to submit multiple DS-3032s. Just one is needed. Just call NVC and update them with the new address, that's all. And if you change address again before the interview, make sure the beneficiary has an updated I-864 and DS-230 for the interview with the new address.

First off, you need a valid reason for expediting. It can't just be because you want to be with your loved one sooner. Otherwise we'd all be expediting! As far as I know, you do NOT need to be a citizen to expedite, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Saylin. You were correct! NVC received my case. Just waiting on a case number...

Woohoo! Hopefully within the next few days you get it!

Just called . They told me everything has been accepted , except the marriage certificate . They said they want a original certificate. I asked didn't the instruction said certified copy is also ok? The lady asked whether it is in Chinese?! And certified by issurance authority?! I told her yes and it is in both Chinese and English And it is with invisible seal! She said she will request to check again. Call back again in 15 days

Sigh .. I really don't know what they want . My husband is going through a tough time now. I already felt terrible that I can't be there by his side physically ! Why this process is taking so ridiculously long ! How much longer they are going to keep us apart !

Were you married in Hong Kong?

As soon as DS3032 is accepted, they can invoice it, but it might take a few days. Keep checking it! It should be there today or tomorrow.
