I filed my papers for I-129f with this guy that has processed a lot of peoples cases. Only thing is its been over a month now and USCIS has not received anything. I think he may have just took my money because I paid him $340 in cash and another $300.00 also in cash for his services.. It's either that or he just didn't send my papers in yet.... gahh I'm so frustrated. The person who processed these papers told me he brought his wife here in 3 months flat. I feel like at this rate I won't be able to see my girl until fall or maybe even next year :crying: I just hope I receive some kind of notice soon to know at least they are starting to process my case. Hoping for the best..

First of all I am so sorry to hear about that. You should call to USCIS whether they have received your packet yet. You have to contact this guy to ask what's going on? Is he an Anthony? What make you trust him this much? What kind of service? If I were you and I found out that this guy cheat me, I would report to police right away.

One more thing, I see your process is k1 visa but you said you already married your girl, what does it mean? If you guys process k1 visa you can't marry her in Cambodia. You both will have 90days to get married in the US after her arrival.

I think you got taken...especially since you gave the guy cash! Hopefully you can get your money back. If not, lessoned learned. Time to move forward. The point of this site is to do everything yourself with little or no help. Follow the detailed guides which tell you step by step on how to fill out I129F forms, fees, wait times, etc. I knew very little about bringing my fiance over from Colombia when I started the process last year in July.

Believe me, everyone in this forum would love to have their fiances in the USA in 3 months...but that is far from the truth. The process can take anywhere from 9-12 months on average. But again, this site tells you everything you need to know to get started. You are going to spend enough money for the USCIS processing fees; avoid at any costs giving away your money to someone who says they "know" how to do this. Its not that difficult if you take your time, read the guides carefully and follow the steps correctly, exactly how they are stated. Well, I've said enough...good luck and use the plentiful advice this website contains. I suggest you spend an hour or two reading the forum on K1 Fiance visa before you get started again on your Visa Journey!

Yes I did contact the guy he told me he will "check it" and told me to give him a call in a week or so.. I knew that the USCIS did not accept cash but he told me he would write a check or money order for me. Yes I am still in contact withthis person and I will be sure to pay him a visit soon thanks for the advice. I will ask him for copies. He did not give me receipts.. about the wedding ceremony yes it is custom to have a ceremony but we are not legally married. I hope that it does not raise any red flags. Sorry if I sound like a robot I am on my cellphone :-P thanks for all your input guys!

Oh my, I am so sorry! Really try to find this guy if for no other reason but to keep him from taking someone else's money, yes and report him. I hope he didn't rob you but I'm thinking he did. Anyways take Gary and Alla's advice count this as a lesson learned and do it yourself. It is NOT hard, just time consuming frustrating and tedious. The hardest part of all is the waiting and it seems you have already been doing that for naught. Good luck and God speed.

PS everyone here is right, there is no such thing as a 3 month k-1.

May God bless and keep you always~ May your wishes all come true~ May you always do for others~ And let others do for you~

May you build a ladder to the stars~ And climb on every rung~May you stay forever young

Ummm....why would you pay someone to file these papers? It isn't as if it is difficult. Also, there are no magical 'fixers' in the U.S. for immigration matters! You have to get in line like everyone else.

Sorry to be harsh, but really. Don't be a sucker!

Nationality really shouldn't come into the trust radar for normal people (fraud is no respecter of nationality). If someone was Canadian, that would not make me trust them more.

Though the fact he did your uncle's papers and your uncle was approved is a good sign.

Wait, your uncle was approved, correct? I mean, he isn't waiting for the same things you are is he?

Actually, when you use the lawyer (like I used for I129F filing, and mine was really famous and good), they WILL use their check to pay fees. I paid by check to my attorney (fees plus USCIS fees) and she wrote the check. This is normal. With all that said, not a single normal attorney would be able to tell you that they can guarantee timeline...

This is very common in Asia, and does not count as being married. You are NOT married in the eyes of USCIS, so don't worry about some of the other posts you have seen here regarding that.

I know where the guy works so i will be visiting him this weekend when i get a chance. Thanks again for all your advice. I really wish I found VJ before i filed these papers.. After i filed the papers I googled K1 visa wait times and found it. And yes my uncle was approved. I think he just lied when he said he would send in my application the next day and waited a couple weeks. :bonk:

sorry. i have a problem with verb tense.

'would' typically means 'future'. Also can mean conditional in an if/then/else construct.

so, he did not write any check for the petition fee.

and he doesn't have formletter, because he hasn't filed it yet.

Sorry.

updating!

So I'm still not sure what this guys is trying to do to me. He keeps avoiding my calls and text me back saying to call back later he's busy. There was just a huge blizzard here and it looks like i won't be going anywhere for a few days. I know where this dude works so i'm going to pay him a visit ASAP. I'm guessing he has some hidden intention on extending my case.(whatever reason that could be, most likely cuz he's a jerk) I called USCIS again and they still have not recieved anything. I really wish i found this website before i went to him. I could have done better by myself. Well I guess patience is key right now, no point of getting frustrated or mad about anything. Won't change a thing. What I'm hoping happens is that i go there to his office and ask him for a refund and my papers back so i can do it myself. And then give him a karate chop. :P
