You took the words out of my mouth. I am ready to shake the fences, poor water on faces, and shock the heck out of lazy, ungrateful individuals who only care of themselves. Lets do this.

No way should citizens have to endure this much processing to bring there LEGAL spouses to American to help, and hold them. Its craze and down right wrong. I feel we have to follow the due process in having everything submittted for approval and the same should go for the people at USCIS. All they have to do is first be happy they have a job, do their job effectively, and make people happy. :D

If someone has already written such a generic letter, can they please share it with the rest of the VJ community so that we can submit similar letters to our senators and congressmen.

Thanks,

the impatient member that can't wait for his wife :(

This is a disgusting thread, why do I get the impression that as soon as you all get citizenship you will be the ones yelling "CLOSE THE BORDERS! IMMIGRANTS ARE TAKING OUR JOBS!". Hopefully you are all moving to hillbilly towns in the deep south so I don't ever need have any political discussions with you.

These people are family members of United States citizens, they deserve respect, not a 10 year ban from their families to go get their visa, which just traps them in illegal employment, not paying taxes their whole lives.

They have US born children that are majorly affected by this.

Most of the people on this website that are filing for K1 met their spouses ON THE INTERNET and hardly even know them. The people you are talking about have legitimate relationships, years and years of having families/lives and real life experiences which each other and America.

Maybe the USCIS should ban internet relationships from visa approval, that seems more reasonable to me. I could probably get behind that.

Actually I come from a family of immigrants, every single one has done so legally, so I don't really get what you are saying. My father, two aunts, and a cousin have all immigrated LEGALLY in the last 26 years. My grandmother immigrated LEGALLY to the UK in the 1950s, my mother's parents immigrated LEGALLY to America.

I've immigrated to my husband's country LEGALLY and spent a long time trying to figure out the logistics of navigating the EU/Danish immigration system. We will be immigrating LEGALLY back to America because if we couldn't we'd find a country that would take us on legally. Part of my morality and ethics is not breaking laws and I hope future Americans would have the same values.

Lash out if you want at internet relationships. Yes, my husband and I met online. Yes, he happens to be one of the 10,000 or so practicers of my religion in the whole world. Yes, I flew to meet him in under 2 months from our first Skype date and he is more amazing than any man I could ever dream of. In person was way better than online. Our families love each other and you couldn't meet two people who were more made for each other. But, yah know, hate away. :luv:

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Well, now the United States has made a waiver, so it will be LEGAL for them too.

Were they there legally before that?

Didn't think so.

You have the right to express your opinion. But so does everyone else on this forum. I found your post to be incredibly disrespectful. No illegal person' s case should displace a U.S. citizen' s. The reason why people in this forum are upset is because of the inconsistency of the laws. There is a 10 year ban for illegal presence over a year but now we have exceptions to that law. Either abolish it completely or make it applicable in all situations. The new exceptions are frustrating for people like me who have made a considerable amount of effort to dutifully abide by the laws. The passing of these new laws is a slap in the face to us while simultaneously promoting others to continuously break the law. Laws only work if there are negative consequences for your illegal actions. This country is becoming an open door for law breakers and that is deeply upsetting to me. I am the grandchild of legal immigrants. My grandparents worked so hard to make it here. They had no money, spoke not a word of English when they arrived, and were suffering from post WWII trauma. I' m not blaming immigrants now for not following the same steps my grandparents took. It' s the lax laws that are allowing this to happen. Why work hard when there is a much easier path available to you? It' s human nature to find the easiest route.

Also your comments about online relationships were completely uncalled for. A good amount of people in this forum met their significant others online. Please get off of your high horse and drop your "holier than thou" attitude. How two people meet is no measure of the validity of their relationship. For you to say so otherwise is ridiculous and frankly none of your business. For the record, I met my husband when we worked together in person. Internet dating is nothing new. How the relationship starts is not what matters. It' s how it's maintained.

I am the petitioner.

This thread is not about keeping anyone out of the US or deporting anyone. It's about the USCIS processing cases and that it should be done fairly.

US govt becomes encouraging people to break laws and punishing others who behave. Sad !!

I have met with my Representative's office. All I got in return is a standard response that our case did not meet the expedite criteria. That is not what I was asking for but it was the only response I received. I, too, want American citizens who are following the rules to have first priority.

I'm offended that anyone would think that our relationships are somehow inferior because we are not physically together. My fiance and I have been together for 2 1/2 years, and when we are not by one another's side, we are in communication every day. The distance has ENHANCED our communication and made our relationship strong, not to mention the sacrifices we ALL go through to stay together. Nothing about this is easy and if we ever take each other for granted then it is our own stupidity. We have a joke that if we ever fall out, we'll just look at each other and say "3741" (our distance apart) and petty disagreements will melt away. We truly love and appreciate one another, or we wouldn't be going through this frustrating process. People in less committed relationships would have said "this is too hard" long ago. I think we're all heroes!

Back to the original topic... here's a link for a petition (especially for Vermont Center couples). Sign it if you will. There is power in numbers.

OOOOPPPSSS! Won't let me post a link because I don't have 5 points?????

I'm sorry but don't agree with you at all. No one is trapped and forced to do things the wrong way. These people decided to break the law and should be punished like everyone else who decides to go the easy path. What kind of legal system rewards people that break the law by creating loopholes? This affect ALL OF US, one way or another, so you might want to think about it. No one is saying that they should be ban, so please, before you reply, read the post again so we are on the same page. All we are saying is that the law should be applicable to everybody, not only to some people. No one is attacking anybody here, so if you have some unresolved issues with whatever situation, you are welcome to bring it up and we can talk about it, or you can just keep it to yourself and move on to a post you like better, your call. First of all, be respectful. We all have the right to get our cases processed in time, and since you don't know me, I'm going to kindly ask you to stop saying how some cases are not worth what other cases are, that is plain ridiculous, to say the least. This post is meant for people to take action and help move things forward for all of us, hopefully. If you are ok with that, great! Welcome on board! If not, could you just relax and let us be? You don't need to be ok with every post here, but you do need to be respectful.

And for the rest of you, awesome VJ people, don't let things like this get us distracted, it's not worth it :) Some people just like attention, and we have better things to do, like getting reunited with our loved one!! Can't wait!!! =D
