Hand deliver RFE to CSC?

My Wife and I received an RFE for her I-751 in October, and the paperwork needs to be in the USCIS' hands no later than 12/31/12. FedEx doesn't deliver to Post Office boxes, the CSC Hotline will be unattended until Wednesday - Dec. 26th, and the nearby UPS Store ran out of USPS Priority envelopes due to the Holiday rush. This paperwork needs to be at the USCIS by Friday, or I will be very nervous.

Question: If I make the 1 hr. drive to Laguna Niguel, is it possible that I can just drop the 1.5 lb. packet through a drop slot, or turn it in, and have the RFE notice stamped? My Wife and I can't leave any of this to chance.

I guess my question is how many US post offices or UPS stores will you drive past in that one hour drive to a building that may or maynot accept mail at their door. Since 9/11 most US government offices do not accept mail delivery to their offices unless it is delivered by a reliable agency.

BTW both of these agencies the USPS or the UPS delivery mail next day guarantee delivery.

USPS has express mail and they will be open after christmas and you can track you package with express mail. They handle express mail totally different from regular and priority mail.

Keep it Real

My question is how many USPS Offices will be stocked with Priority Mail envelopes??? Not much time is on my side, and after running in circles today, I want a sure bet. UPS does not deliver to Post Office Boxes - Leidys and I are reluctant to use the USPS between two major holidays.

Did you try calling the USPS 800 number and ask for the nearst 3 and phone them to see if they have what you need.

No, because all of the Post Offices were closed at noon today. Crazy luck.

you received it in October and you are replying at the last minute. You cannot hand deliver to a government office, end of story. I can guarantee if you try hard enough you can get USPS to deliver it on time. If you are willing to drive an hour to drop it off, I am sure you can find another US post office a lot closer than an hour who has the envelopes, or a postal center

I know for a fact they will ALL be open on 12/26 at 8:00 am, the 800 number will be avavilable at 9:00 am for calls.

You really think they won't lose this important package if I opt for a Next Day Delivery option? I was also thinking about going to the same Post Office that the CSC uses and pay for 'normal' processing to make sure it gets there without any difficulty. Not sure, though.

You are over thinking a simple process. The USPS has the next day delivery down to a science, they have a lost rate of less than -.ooooo1 percent. Unless you address it incorrecly, than the failure to delivery is null.

As far as I'm aware no, you cannot hand deliver. I think I recall someone else tried it.

I would check other USPS locations near you for the envelopes you need.

Good luck!

Correct. I was actually able to refinance the house, and have my Wifes name added to the Title of the house. Hooray! Getting all of the loan docs back, and having the paperwork notarized took that long, but it was definitely worth it. Exactly $550/month worth it. Now, the race is on to get the paperwork to the USCIS by Friday afternoon. I think the USPS deserves another shot. Thanks for helping calm us down, everybody!

You don't even need the express envelopes to send it express, you just pay the express rate and use your own envelope. They even sell express stamps. USPS will get it there by the 27th or 28th at the latest if you send it before noon on the 26th.
