I've been hearing that VSC has been claiming to be working on May 14th, 2012 files however I came to find out that a September 2012 filer just got approved on Nov 8th, 2012. Just 44 days between the NOA1 and NOA2. Their petition was sent to VSC. I am a August filer and I am still waiting for an approval. They talk about how petitions are looked at based on the order it was sent but that's a lie. This is just unfair. I am very tensed and upset.I am planning to call USCIS and complain to them about this and they better do something about it and I even have proof that they approved a Sept filer before a Aug filer. Please leave some feedbacks about what you think about this. Thank you!

My Update

08/20/2012: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

08/22/2012: Confirmed delivery by FedEx

08/25/2012: NOA1 received (Sent to VSC)

In between these dates (don't remember), it was transferred to NBC.

09/12/2012: Transferred to a USCIS local office (Last touched)

**********: NOA2 (not yet received)

what's 'touched" mean? Mine sent on August 8th. On August 16th,We got email and text.Said our case is routing to VSC. That's it.Never transfer to somewhere.Never said touched. Our case statues now is Initial review: On August 13, 2012, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. They could have been expedited. I am sure they send the background checks in order but may not receive all the information back at the same time. There could be RFE's or extenuating circumstances. The VSC had nothing to do with the September filer or anyone since August 15th. What is happening with the NBC is still a little mysterious to everyone. If its at a local field office, it won't be the VSC but a field office closest to you. There are many, and we can't predict how fast each of them are going to get to approving.

You are lucky to have an August 25th NOA1. If you really went to the VSC, you would be waiting over 5 months for a NOA2, but it seems that its only about 3 months for the NBC. Patience is a virtue during the NOA1->NOA2 stage.

You can find your field office using this link:

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

Also look at a lot of the other threads in this message board. A lot of people are with you on this.

One thing people have been doing is calling the USCIS, getting an ISO (Tier 2) to figure out if their case has even been assigned to an officer yet. That will help ease your mind tremendously, I bet.

Also if you update your timeline (underneath your picture to the left), you will be a part of the statistics on this site that help us figure out how long it is taking everyone!

Thank you for your input. Perhaps they did get expedited. I live with my husband abroad so I was expecting to get expedited as well. God knows what's happening. I don't think VSC has my petition anymore because it was transferred to a USCIS local office. I will do what you said. I'll look to see where my local office is located and I will also update my timeline. I will also call USCIS and try to get a Tier 2 on the line because it would definitely like you said help me ease my mind if I can find out that info. Thank you so much. You responding does help :)

And be lucky youre with your husband. Most of us have to wait miles, even oceans apart! Like this lady right here :crying: But I still have patience and am excited that we are part of the lucky (so far) NBC transfers!

you are no longer a 'VSC Visitor' so please stop thinking about VSC, aye?

Focus on MSC stuff - study over at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=4&option=2&sortby=2 instead.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

At this point, I have no idea where my petition is. It went from Vermont Service Center to National Benefits Center and then from there transferred to a USCIS Local Office. Now I have to call USCIS to find out exactly which local office for sure and where it has really gone.

Yes, the other case may have been expedited. But also, it is helpful to think of it like this:

"Cases are looked at in the order they come in- they are not approved in the order they come in.".

Some cases are easier than others to approve, some cases require the USCIS staff to look at more paperwork, or the US petitioner has a common name and so name checks take longer etc.

Best way to deal with it is to stop looking at other people's dates and focus on your own. It drove me crazy. I would keep hounding USCIS and speak to a Tier 2 and get your Senator involved, whether or not it helps. Focus on your file as everyone's is different.

Well, I know you're upset but don't get worried now. You didn't even wait 5 months so probably things will go better for you. About people that are getting approved fast, I found a lot of timelines of people getting approved faster than me. I am a 19th June filer and they've all filed after that date. I have non idea what's going on. My situation is getting very very hard. My husband has to pay for my life in Italy and his life in the States and if he falls too far behind with any payment his job is at risk. We expected things to be relatively fast and to be approved within the 5 months but we're almost around the 6th months and NOBODY gave us any explanation. Also because of my husband's job, I already got a background check by the NSA and somehow not I am going through this all over again. I am so frustrated. Sounds it would be easier to get in there as a clandestine than with a legal visa :(

Yep. when U think about how long some ppl have to wait its amazing when others act up after a few wks or mths; dont get me wrong EVERY person case is important, all families and loved ones needs to be together, and cases differ ,there's name checks, missing docs, and other things that slow some process,

one cannot get mad or offended because the next person was called B4 them just wish them well and hope U R the next...good luck on everyones journey
