Rant: So i mailed out our petition on November 8th..YAY!! I got delivery confirmation on it (Thank GOD!!) and the post office tried to deliver it on the 10th (which was a saturday) The post office said that a notice had been left stating it needed to be redelivered. Okay..so my rant is this: It has been almost 5 business days and NOTHING has been updated on the postal website. It still says the same thing it did on the day they tried to deliver it..So..I called USCIS and waited 40 minutes just to be told that they couldn't tell me anything and to call back the end of the month!! what the #######!? By the end of the month, my package will have been sent back to me! IS it really that hard for them to see if someone had tried to get my petition? He said "Someone in our mailroom will get it if a notice has been received" REally? that's all you can tell me..and then he tells me wait TWO more weeks!!! I'm sorry if i seem childish. I'm very upset..To think it would take A MONTH almost to know whether or not they even received it!!!Something that should have only taken a few days..I'm in tears. Thanks for listening!

P.S. Word of advice to those who are about to send out a petition: DO NOT mail it close to the weekend!!!

Did you mail it requiring a signature upon receipt?

That sounds like your problem.

We had a holiday too so that slowed it down alittle. Don't be worried it will be accepted and not returned to you as long as you sent it to the correct adress. Having added the delivery confirmation was a good idea. Good Luck on your journey :)

Right. But you mailed your package to a P.O. Box and they don't always have someone who would sign a delivery confirmation.

Sometimes receiving the hard copy of the NOA takes some time. People sometimes don't get it after 2 months. As long as you sent it via courier, you have proof they received it.

I have proof i sent it but I don't have proof yet that anyone has received it..which is why i'm upset. They could not tell me on the phone whether someone from USCIS went and got it or had it scheduled to be redelivered..They told me wait 2 weeks and if nothing has been updated on the usps website, we should be able to track it by the method in which i paid the fee.

Ya. I always send via courier. This way you have proof online that they received it, signature or not.

I am almost certain it will be redelivered.

You sent it via a method that required a signature. No one is waiting at the PO box to sign for packages. You are not supposed to send it requiring a signature upon receipt. Now you will be waiting until someone signs for it. Next time do not send your packages via that particular method, especially if sending to a PO box unless you want to wait again.

Now you know :) Good luck!

It happened to me before. We got confirmation a couple of days later. It takes awhile for Uscis to get to opening the package. You should hear something soon. Good luck!

You will get a confirmation on Monday. When I sent mine I put that it needed to be signed just like you did. I sent it on a Thursday to be overnighted. It arrived Friday in the morning but no one picked it up until Monday and Monday I received the confirmation from USPS, with the signature of the Dallas Lockbox employee who picked it up and 4 days later I received a text saying that my packet was sent to VSC and my case number. You are fine it will be delivered and someone will sign for it.

Good luck

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I called the post office, they said they were waiting for the packet to be picked up.

I requested they attempt to deliver again the next day and they did so. All was good.I recommend going with help from the post office first.
