Horrible marriage interview part 2

First congratulation. But I will tell you straight up, if any body talks to me that way let alone my wife............there will be hell to pay! You should have stopped the process immediately and ask to speak to her supervisor or better yet an American Consulate. I would not have moved or answered another question from her until they appeared. They may have had me escorted out but I will not let any body demean my wife in that way. That interviewer would have lost their job if I had to move congress to do it. An appointment with the ambassador would have rectified the situation one way or another. We have a few over zealous interviewers here to.......but always remember they do have a boss! Chances are thats the last thing they want to be called on.....specially if they are wrong! Respect......I expect nothing less and I give nothing less, till you cross the line!

Right, except this was not an interview at a US Embassy, this was stokes interview at a local USCIS office.

Thank you for sharing your story. So very sorry of all the hardship you endured at the hands of a very nasty CO officer but I'm extremely happy everything worked out in your favor! If you two didn't know, without a shadow of a doubt that your love for each other was protective and strong, you certainly do now! I predict a lifetime of happiness for you both! Congratulations on your approval!

Congratulations on your approval! I'm so glad the interviewing officer approved you right away so you didn't have to wait forever for the result of your interview. I truly hope that the first lady that interviewed you was reported and will have to answer for her actions. Hopefully you can relax and enjoy life together now!

Our family and friends called to say they got called by immigration as to attest to the validity of our marriage. They all spoke of their love and friendship with us. Today I was enjoying the beautiful weather outside and as I walked back into the house I noticed a black government vehicle drive by slowly past our house. I cannot say that it was immigration doing final checks but we got an approval later on in the day. Yes this is so real now. Thank you for everyone who helped with helpful words. We are approved now and I hope our experience can help someone else.

Congrats!

Not even time and space can deter what is meant to be. Finding ones true love (Soul Mate) is priceless ):

You deserve it all, and then some more. Congratulations!

We were only watching "What would you do?" last night about racism between interracial couples. It disgusts me to the absolute core that this happened to you, or to anyone in today's sociaty, I'm so very sorry.

Congratulations again kicking.gif

Wow!!!!!!! First of all Congrats on your approval!!!!! Secondly, thank you so much for posting your experience because I now have an idea of what I can do if I get another disrespectful and rude CO. Unlike you, I stood shut with fear that my husbands visa (at the 1st interview) would be denied and didnt know at the time that I could ask to speak to a director. Unfortunately I was told all this when I came back to the US.

Again, thanks so much for sharing and Congrats!!!

This is living proof that true love conquers all

Congratulations on making it through a difficult set of interviews. Just a thought for those who are reading this USCIS have guidance to Adjudicators on conducting interviews - you can read them here - http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/2012/May/AFMs5-23-12.pdf. It may be worth reading before attending your interview so you know what to expect.

Congratulations! I am so glad that you were treated properly and got the chance to prove your marriage at the second interview. While you won't know what actions were taken with regards to the first officer I suspect that she will not get away with her behaviour unscathed. Good luck to the two of you.

Thank you! We asked that no one should ever be treated the way we were. There is no news as to what happened to her. But hopefully she would have learned an important lesson and treat others with dignity

Hi,

It's a TV show, where they get actors to play out highly sensitive or uncomfortable scenarios in public, to see if members of the public would say anything, ie "What would you do?", it's a really great show.

See here :: http://abcnews.go.com/WhatWouldYouDo/parents-disapprove-interracial-couple-married/story?id=13409130#.UIssXcXA9rM

Great show, we always watch it when it's on good.gif
