hello.

I cannot believe it has been almost 2 years already. I have a question. My residence expires dec 3-12. i havent done the process cus my husband is military and we are pcsing at the moments. Right now, we dont have an address, we will next week though. One lawyer told us we need a lawyer cus we are kinda late in the 90 day window? is that true? Are we still on time to do the process for ourselves (since last time it was very expensive to pay for an attorney) ? If you know what to do next I will really appreciate it

As long as your file is recieved before your green card is expired by USCIS, you are fine and you don't need a lawyer. If your green card is expired and you still didn't file, than you will definitly need a lawyer. Besides you are a wife of a military guy, Why don't you just put the address of the one you have now and than file for address change? Or put the address for one of your friends that you visit often. I mean you can put your address where you live now and the second address put your friends address.

Like other OP has suggested, you don't need a lawyer and file 751 now, so that you can have NOA1 (extension letter before the GC expire).

Thanks! I had documents already, joint credit cards, saving and checking accounts, car insurance and property of a vehicle, medical insurance (me as beneficiary) my military ID as a spouse, pictures. I dont have affidavits no one lives close to us to do it now. Will it be necessary???

I went to the legal office but they didnt help that much, they gave me copies from USCIS website, We are not overseas. . we just move to a new location where we dont have friends or family so we dont have a settle address yet

I used GOING TO cus I literally went to the legal office in the military department, I Have a BA in English and I know the use of the verbs and what they imply, also I know how to use a telephone! But again, it did not help.

Thanks for all the constructive comments, I have most of the docs ready, just found out I need to register the title of the car here to be on our names ugh, lol it is always something, but hopefully I ll get that done on Monday and overnight it the same day!

No, they're not necessary at all. They're suggested for people with weak other evidence.

I could get lots of people to write Affidavits but they aren't in my relationship so they only know what they see, they don't know what actually goes on. I didn't bother other people to write Affidavits because I had substantial other evidence (back accounts, life insurance, car insurance, health insurance, bought a house... etc etc). I did however print FB photos with comments. That's kinda like "Affidavits" in the non-official sense I suppose. People commenting on how cute we are etc etc.
